Description
Photoshop CS5.1 Extended; 30hours+/- cumulative; Airbrushing, Painting, and Photoshop for post-processing.Commission done for Exeter42 for his Femshep OC.

COMMENTS:
- Art's atmosphere inspired by some scenes in 'Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within'; for example like those whimsical wisps thingy flying around, tangy and purple gradient overall tone, etc. etc.
- The science and space buff, please bare with me if this planet seems unnatural and defies physics, it's just a concept and panorama distortion
- I experimented by drawing a lime green aurora amidst the tangy and orangy sky, it seems not to feel out of place though looked that way at first.
- I stirred clear from that typical Mass Effect blueish light effect on this art, but I now I felt it needs that as it's somewhat visually integral. Will revise if necessary...

BW is great, but I'm addicted to the Scorpion! Mod it to hold more ammunition and ME3 become like the good old Bomberman games, all these explosions non-stop is insane haha

I think this two are the most popular combo out of the 'pairing' fanarts of ME, though in this art I tried to focus more on the Commander and isolated her.
IMO, Shepard is always interesting is his/her 'alone time' when he/she drops of his/her guard and that 'mask' when no ones around; there we can see the glimpse of weariness and true emotions.

And I love the panorama distortion. It makes it look so much more massive. The aurora is a nice touch too

For something that I do that used up my free time, I must honor it with the best I could pull off, that's basically it
Yeah the distortion is a borrowed technique from photography and now much adapted in digital drawings; the dramatic effect of it is too alluring not to be used
The curved panorama should give the element of disorientation and a bit of vertigo, the aurora was the request and glad that it was.
Btws, you were the architect that resulted in my Mario work getting DD'ed?!

Well, there's a lot of orange planets in ME, even Tali's homeworld looks like it - this art is about exploration and Palaven is already 'discovered', so probably a planet that hasn't a lot of inhabitants and a candidate for colonization ;D
