Interesting. Is this for a new timeline or an older one ?

It's the same one as the one with the maps of New England around the same period- you can read it at [link] if you're interested. This map's relevant to the chapter I'm posting on Tuesday.

So...do the Royalists win this time around?

Wait and see! Although not having Cromwell will certainly harm the Parliamentary war effort. If the King doesn't win right away though, it'll take an awful lot to swing things in his favour. It's possible though!

I guess I might as well have to take your advice.

If the Royalists win, an independent Ireland is pretty unlikely; Charles was King there too, and he had no desire to see Catholicism tolerated unless it was the only way he'd be able to keep his crown. Best bet for the Confedeeracy surviving is probably a messy draw where everyone's too exhausted to invade across the irish sea, and even that'll only last a few years.

Your missing Kilkenny for Ireland. I believe it was the generally accepted capital for the Irish confederates.

Yes, I was wondering whether I should add that.

I would stick it in just to be accurate.
As for an independent Ireland (comment below V) the only way of garunteeing independence is by gaining a sponsor on the continent with the power to rival Britain who can arm the island quickly whilst everyone else is recovering. Spain or France is the best bet, though I'm unsure whether they'd be willing to risk it as this would possibly psarka war with Britain in the future.

Awesome... A question, are all your maps "alternative" or are there a mix...? If there is a mix, please mark them.

They all are, but some are more divergent than others. This, for example, is pretty much identical to what really happened, apart from the battle that we know as Edgehill happens a couple of miles to the north-west at Ashorne. Things will depart more from established history as t goes on, however.
