Description
Since long ago I wanted to redo this drawing,lately the old version is having lots of visits and I think it was time to review it (since 2004!), and Superman´s new movie is premieres on this weekend, and it seemed like a good opportunity. I hope you enjoy it

Please don't take this the wrong way: but as a person who respects both characters, I have to say I prefer the original over the remake. The attempt to capture Superman's outfit as seen in the reboot is a good one, but both of the characters, especially Goku, suffer from the changes in both mood and style.
In the original image, Son Goku had a much more playful expression, typical of his childlike personality. (and warranted: he was fighting Superman, a friendly hero. There would be no reason for Goku to be stressed or angry. The fight was obviously a friendly sparring match) Here, however, he looks much more like he wants to protect something. The nature of Goku's expression is far out of character as well, as he seems much less confident in his ability as a warrior. Also, Goku's art style is also iconic: he's almost unrecognizable without it.
On the other hand, Superman looks much more battle-ready than he did previously, fists balled, and eyes glowing with energy, ready to attack anything that comes his way, while his expression is a generic pout of determination. The art style doesn't convey a similar feel to his appearance in 'Man of Steel', and his expression is also odd and out of character.
These characters are very different from one another, but they both are iconic, and represent a sense of hope. Both defend the world from outside forces of destruction, and Superman also defends the world from itself. Again, please don't take this the wrong way. You'll notice that I gave your technique 4.5 stars out of 5: that's because I still love your technique. The texture rendering and color work are both excellent, as well as the sense of movement and depth, and the attention to detail is also excellent.

Of course i won´t take wrong your critique, and i wanna thank you for it, this is a very reasonable opinion and i really respect it.
I made the drawing this way because otherwise it would be like the older version and it wouldn´t make sense to do it. If i had done the same drawing, but actualized, it wouldn´t be interesting, neither for me and the watcher.
I know i can make an original style for gokuh and superman but, what´s the point of that? if i wanna see an original version i buy an original comic or just watch the official web, don´t you think?
Anyway i thank you for taking the time to write me a critique and i´m glad you like my style and of cuorse, i´m glad you respect the characters, you´re right when you say they´re iconic and just for that i made a personal version, because i like them so much.

For me the Goku Look matured than the Original. I like it
I don't care about not Anime Style. Because Anime Style originally influenced from Disney style and any other style like betty boop . Osamu Tezuka who are considered the founder of manga/anime style just tweak the existing style and it become nowadays "anime style" or manga style or any of that Japanese Cartoon Style.
Akira Toriyama also got Influenced from The God of Manga itself (Osamu Tezuka), you can see some character like Bloomer (Burma/Bulma), it has Disney or any western cartoon Inlfluenced also.
Let the Artist Drawing Goku the way he/she wants. It his style.

Superman looked better and Goku didn't look like Alladin with a bad hairdo. I mean, he was anime style with a bad hairdo, but at least didn't look all disney ish about it. I blame Akira Toriyama.

oook thats your opinion and i respect it, but possibly you do not understand the idea. The idea was exactly what you criticism, two differents characters made in a differect style, in this case cartoon (or disney if you prefer) style.
But, as i said, it´s your opinion...

You know, a lot of people where mad that Goku lost to Superman in Death battle. I say I don't mind, it just shows Goku's greatest quality, There is always someone stronger and he will train to become even stronger. he never gives up.

While Superman is indeed stronger than Goku, it really doesn't matter, they're both heroes and would fight together, rather than each other.
