Just came back to look at this and laughed the fuck out loud at Farrere's mugs face. OH GOD. FARRERE. YOU ARE SO FUNNY.
Elvendon's comment is interesting! Do other characters of MC and MW each represent certain aspects of your persona in the same way? (WORST WORDED SENTENCE EVER, do you get what I mean though?)

Wolfgang: Originally a manifestation of my lecherously flirtatious side, but along the road of character development, picked up the side of me that feels and needs (not nocessarily sexual) love and attention most fiercely and desperately.
Morganna: My daydreaming, head-in-the-clouds manner, not to mention my preoccupation with objectivity and fairness. And she's an elf 'cause of my fantasy-loving-ness.
Eddie: As Charlie is to Elvendon! Hyper-sensitive, shy, and even tending towards the same taste in clothing and literature I would have demonstrated at age 11 or so. Plus I made him Japanese and a vampire because I was once obsessed with both things, sigh. (:
Piggy: I guess as Farrere is to you; my self-loathing. She reflects the insecure, attention-thirsty, outwardly insane and sortofhatingmyselfforit person I became in high school.
Julius: My hermit-y side. Also my annoyingly anal-retentive side.

I did read the prologue of aFAM, and always intended to continue because it was gorgeously written and because you are just a cool dude ok, but -- I'm looking at your gallery now, is it gone? As for aFAM, I went through a phase of sending it to agents and publishers, and on sage advice I took it down from the internets on the off chance it got picked up. Apparently they don't like free copies of the books they sell lurking around or somesuch.
But I'm really flattered that you liked how it was written! Would you like me to send you the most recent draft? I'd LOVE for you to read any/all of it!
OH ROLEPLAYING. We should do this. Not only would Mel trigger Foob's massive fear of his evil grandmother, but I think there's every chance Piggy would get into a fight with Iggy, and Ash would become Morganna's hag fag (although such a term would NOT be used, under any circumstances *nods*)
Charlie tends to startle people. Particularly his family, who are continuously surprised by a male who succeeds at... well... anything.

He's also obsessed with Japan and vampires (and practically every other human subculture-y thing he's come across), so if he met Eddie he'd be a MESS of annoying, never-ending questions...

Might I say, manifesting your self-loathing as an attractive character is really interesting. Firstly, it could be a way of saying that self-loathing is actually quite stupid (given how many awesome, lovely people have that kind of complex), OR it could be a way of saying how self-loathing is in fact in and of itself very attractive; it's very hard to escape.
I'll stop psychoanalysing you now

Tristan: Originally, a projection of my adolescent fantasy bf. But now he's become far more of an outgrowth of my creativity and spiritual leanings.

Mel: My overbearing superego. Thanks to my sister for that -_-
Will: My fear. (Interestingly, also made into the most attractive main character... I SENSE A PATTERN).

I am trying to think up an appropriate response that is more than an "aww" or a "totally" or a rant about my own characters.
I think we all hate ourselves in some way. Just think though, if you didn't have that self-hatred, you wouldn't have Farrere, and you wouldn't have MC, and thus where would all of us be? Waiting around for you to show up because "good enough" is totally subjective.
And at least Farrere is inherently a nice person. My villains tend to be more like me than most of my other characters.

And.. that logic right there is why no amount of counselling or therapy would ever cure me of my self-esteem issues -- because I know I need them

I get it. Whenever someone writes or draws a character of there own creation there is always a part of themselves that even the creator cant necessarily control. They just create themselves. Which is kinda weird, if you think about it (but not weird because its normal)
Now that the heavy is out of the way, I'd just like to say...Farrere, why are you so damn cute? As always, another awesome comic strip you've done (not surprising anyone, your gallery is filled to the brim with nothing but awesome)
