Just a quick play around with a picture from today. It's shot from the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center in Seattle and shows Eliot Bay. Some of the Olympic Mountains Range should be in the background but it's covered by clouds. The contrast in this image was way too high and it came almost black/white when I tried to expose for the highlights. I only converted it and did some minor tweaks. I'm not familiar with editing these type of images anyways.Location: Columbia Center, Seattle, Washington State, USA

Nice scene! Beautiful. When shooting a high contrast scene like this I do at least two exposures, one for shadows and another for highlights.

Thank you! The thing is, I don't shoot with a tripod so merging multiple exposure would be difficult. I mostly shoot hand-held and on rare occasions I hack something to work as my tripod. I also don't even own a program that could merge them and I don't really want to spend a ton of money on one. I know I would get better results in situations like this but it's not really worth the hassle and money for me atm. : /
