Description Another sunset shot from Lipan Point. Minutes before there were no god rays at all and then they started coming one after another. It was a great sight seeing the light moving.

Same composition but later: eegarim.deviantart.com/art/The…
After sunset, different composition: eegarim.deviantart.com/art/Lip…

//Edited to make it a bit more contrastry and remove some of the blue tint so it looks more natural.

Location: Lipan Point, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA

Amazing. You luck dog. You had a chance to go the Grand Canyon. I've always wanted a chance to go but...sigh...never will happen....until I'm done with school that is.

Yeah, I feel pretty lucky. I suppose you live over there so it's a lot closer for you. And you seem to be young, considering you are still going to school, so lots of time.

Thanks! And it was even more stunning being there. I mean, that's true for most photographs but the massive scale of the grand canyon made it impossible to capture said scale and how stunning it was.

I love the glimpse of the river down there
What a great location

Heh yeah, the river seems very small from up there. It's about 1600 m of elevation and the river is actually really big.^^ The location was great indeed but also very packed. At least until the sun had settled behind the rim. Everyone left immediately and I was alone for another hour of the color spectacle.

Thank you!

That was like many of the places I went to in Iceland only it never got dark there.Β
People everywhere so getting shots was a challenge at times.Β
It's always pleasing when you get a good shot under difficult circumstances

My pleasure

I guess you toured around in south-west iceland where it's more crowded? I remember those touristic places and yeah, they are comparable with this location. I just chose to place myself and my camera on a ledge close to the drop off into the canyon. Nobody wanted to sit that close to the edge I guess.

My first two days were spent in the West on Snaefellsnes peninsula and it was pretty quiet there.Β
My problem was I had to have three different hotels in five nights as everywhere was booked. The second hotel and the third one were much nearer the Golden Circle where all the people are.Β
Also it was July which is peak season.Β
Next time I go it will be more likely September and for longer so I can travel further and get into the North which I want to see.

Oh, I see. It sounds like a good plan to visit the north (and east maybe) for longer. Iceland deserves it. I have to do that as well as I was, too, only able to see the Golden Circle (mostly).
