Description This man and this sword are things I draw too much (not really)
Fun fact: before I drew this I wanted to finish an old Zelda fan art, but I gave up because I didn't want to draw Epona. So I drew another horse. Where's the logic here...? XD

Wow, his horse has EYES!

Seeing promoted Eliwood in Rekka no Ken was always odd to me. I thought that red sash thing over his horse's eyes were a blindfold!

Haha... Riding a blindfolded horse would be something really weird... maybe kinda badass, but still very weird :'D

Yeah, try swinging Durandal while your blindfolded horse is flailing around

Badass work of Eliwood! Β I love Durandal's gleam, too!
I always did find it odd How he promotes to a mounted class, when his first tier class is unmounted. Β I guess they had to shoehorn him becoming the finest knight in Lycia somehow, eh?

Thank you!
Heh, maybe that's the reason. Also in FE6 he was a Paladin, so it makes sense.

Yeah, I know he's a paladin, and I still need to play the trial maps in that game, especially since I went through the trouble of completing hard mode...

This is lovely. >w< I love the pose, and your drawing style. Just the way you drew Eliwood here... I really like it, haha. >w> Ahh, Elibe in general does not get enough credit so I love seeing these works from you so much. <3 I'm a huge fan of Binding Blade and Sealed Sword, haha.
Hmm... I also really like the horse here, was it difficult? ;w;
I'm also wondering how long this took you, haha. XD In any case, it really looks wonderful, so nice work.

Also, there is no logic in that at all. XD

Ah thank you! Wait, Binding Blade and Sealed Sword are both variations of English for Fuuin no Tsurugi, that is, FE6.. I think you meant Binding Blade and Sword of Flame, or how do they translate Rekka no Ken
Ah the horse. Actually it would be too difficult, so I just found a stock photo of a horse in a pose I liked and kinda traced it... The best way to draw a horse :'D
I honestly have no idea how long it take, I never pay attention to such things. Probably a few hours, but I think less than most of my drawings. Probably because I had Eliwood's pose sketched beforehand and the horse was traced..
The logic is: I don't want to draw horses, but I'll do it for Eliwood XD

You're welcome. >w<
Ahh, my bad. XD Obviously wasn't thinking very clearly when I typed that... Um, yes, Sword of Flame and Sealed Sword, ahaha. Honestly, my favorites are Sword of Flame and Sacred Stones. >w>

XD Yes, best way to draw a horse, ahaha. Well, it turned out good, at least? XP

Neither do I, so I can understand that. Mm, I see! Not that long then, I suppose.

Ah, yes. Best logic. XD

Eliwood really doesn't get enough credit, not does his son. This looks fantastic, you can't go past a classic heroic horseman pose.

Maybe that's true. But Roy at least gets the SSB fan art..
And thanks!

It does make me sad we didn't get Binding Blade here...
As an interesting bit of trivia, Roy is the only Lord whose father is still alive at the end of his game.

Robinstic [2016-05-12 10:44:10 +0000 UTC]

There simply is no logic in there I guess
I'm always wondering, though... Eliwood must have some good muscles in his arm, lifting the Durandal with only one arm... I mean, that thing isn't really such a toothpick like the Falchion or the Master Sword or whatever... I mean, these things also are pretty long 'n' stuff, but the Durandal kinda looks thicker and wider...
Meh, that probably is completely irrelevant anyway... I didn't forget about our patron
And we won't even talk about Cloud and his goddamn Buster Sword, that thing is downright ridiculous

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Eeveetachi In reply to Robinstic [2016-05-12 21:34:28 +0000 UTC]

True
You know, next to the original sketch I wrote "he won't be able to move this arm for the next week" or something like this But actually it seems that Durandal has some magical feature that makes quite small people able to wield it; if I remember well, in FE6 Roy questions if he would be able to do it, and Lilina says something about that, mentioning that Roland, Durandal's original owner, was also a small man... (I'm an Elibe nerd, ain't I) oh, and it's not so irrelevant, but just in case... hail the patronΒ Β
Yeah, Cloud is the best of small men with giant swords~

Robinstic In reply to Eeveetachi [2016-05-14 21:03:11 +0000 UTC]

Hahahaha yeah I know such things! I also write so many things next to my sketches which I personally find hilarious but I know people won't, so I leave them out in the end
Or sometimes it's just stuff like "Oh my god I again drew the torso too big and the legs too short... Screw it, I'm gonna edit that out digitally " or random arrows which remind me where I should shrink or enlarge certain things, because I tend to forget stuff like this and I won't notice I did until the picture is about 98% completed... Gods, I hate it when this happens
But that thing about the Durandal would explain it pretty much! I don't quite remember any dialogue mentioning this but I'll just assume you know it better than me, since it's been quite some time since I last played the GBA FEs
(Oh, I bet I am as much of an Ylisse nerd as you are an Elibe nerd, so don't worry about that )
Don't forget "and weird hair styles"

Eeveetachi In reply to Robinstic [2016-05-14 21:12:48 +0000 UTC]

I know, whenever I edit my sketches digitally I rescale or change many things that I didn't notice were off on paper! Fortunately it's easy to do digitally.
I'm pretty sure this dialogue was in the beginning of the chapter in which you get Durandal. I should know, I'm currently struggling through FE6..!
(It's great to be a nerd, isn't it -3-)
Shut up, the spikes are the most adorable hairstyle ever!

The truth was spoken once more! Oh what would I do without digital editing
I really need to play these games once more soon! But FE14 comes out on Friday... Oh my god
(It's the best thing ever )
Ahahahahaaaaa, alright, alright

Beautiful work, as usual. There's a few issues with proportions here, but it's an ambitious drawing so that's definitely understandable.

It would be nice if you didn't mention the "issues" though... I never ask for this because I see them myself and hearing about them makes me discouraged

Oh, okay. In the future you may want to put something in the artist's comments about not wanting critique; I think it's typically understood that artists are interested in feedback otherwise.
