I see the middle door as the path that is easiest to take, that most take. The path to the bright door is a path that is harder to take, someone would need willpower to go off the main road.

That's pretty "dark" point of view compared to previous ones. I think it makes sense thu, it matches this phrase once said "we tend to do the right thing after exhausting every other option" Most people would say the lit one is the "right" one, nevertheless, the very same people may not go for it because of willpower issue as you just mentioned!

Whoever is able to do the bad is equally able to do the good....
It's the red line above ,that caught my eye as an indicator to balance our limits ...
or lets say as a compass to our aims and choices ...
without doubt wonderful shadows and concept... !!!
Well done!

Most probably. But hugofranca's explanation is better, I overlooked the contrast between middle and middle left; don't continue on paths you are used to, make a turn to the left, bright side, that'd be the end of your dark and sorrow path...and this would be my interpretation.
Amazing, how people can have different interpretation of a picture based on the visual impact of the picture on their deeper self and the resulting effect.

Yea I wasn't kidding when I said I couldn't have done a better job commenting on my own image than him!
After reading your first part, for the first time I had positive feeling about a phrase that a professor at Harvard/MIT used to tease us with it all the time. It said: "There's too many ways to do it wrong than to do it right". we were never able to prove him wrong in multiple occasions.

Reminds me of a story I was old once as a child. There was this man who lost his way a long time ago. When he thought all hope was gone that he would ever find his way home again he happened upon several beaten paths. He was never one to follow the crowd so he followed the path that looked less beaten.
Moral of story
Be who you were meant to be

You have five choices! Do you go for the inviting one or one of the more sinister ones?

It looks like a dungeon to me. Dark and damp. I'm picturing bars at the front of each alcove. One guard would have been able to observe all the cells at all times. The victorians built their prisons along the same lines.

I like to think of it as choice. First we have a set of doors, then a very lit door which reclaims my attention and symbolizes the right path to take, the light one. But then there is this center door, dark and mysterious, the path of the curious one. I think it has a lot of power for being in the center, it's like the forbidden apple. Definitely not a path for everyone.
Great picture

I agree with KLynn, however it would seem the choice is being made, maybe there are many paths of darkness and only one of light?
