Description "You don’t understand, Uru..." the king finally mumbled. "The only thing Taka will cause is more trouble for us all! I was wise to choose Mufasa as my heir..."

Uru’s jaw dropped. "What!? How dare you!" she roared furiously and her red eyes narrowed. Her voice lowered to a growl. "If you had followed the rules, Taka would have been the future King..."

Ahadi winced and turned around, staring at her, but did not speak.

Uru snarled. "You know what I’m talking about." she said and lowered her voice again. "He was the first born..."

Ahadi froze. That was the very fact he had denied for such a long time... And now it was spoken out loud! "Uru!" he roared, furious, "You shut your mouth right now!"

Uru growled and showed her white teeth. "You can’t tell me what to do! You shabby fool of a King!" she finished and turned around to leave, her long tail swishing furiously behind her.

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

A deathly silence followed Ahadi's roar. Uru turned around again and stared at him. She was both afraid and furious now. But mostly furious. Ahadi took a step back, surprised at the volume of his own voice, and made an attempt to calm himself down. However, the damage had already been done. The very subject of the argument had been listening to the whole conversation, hidden behind the rocks. Now the young cub ran off, tears streaming down his face. He did not want to hear any more.

"Uru..." Ahadi murmured in a low voice after calming himself down somewhat. "The night before our cubs were born... I had a dream. My mother came to me in my dream. And she said... she said a dark prince would be born. His rule would bring chaos and ruin upon our lands... And then... then I saw our sons. My mother knew..." He paused and looked away, as if gathering courage to say what would come next. "Uru, Taka must never be king."

Uru still stared. But now her eyes showed mostly disbelief. She knew how superstitious Ahadi was, and how important the "Great Kings and Queens of the Past" were to the Pride Land monarchs, but... this?

-----------

Classic case of 'One often meets one's destiny on the road to avoid it'. Poor superstitious Ahadi. *dramatic voice* He had no idea what wheels he set in motion on that fateful day...

Sort of a continuation of a drawing I made in... 2006? If you looked at it recently you might even see that I've copied some of the text I wrote for it here xP I'm planning to redraw that picture sometime too.

So basically, in my TLKverse , Taka (Scar) was the older of the brothers, but because of this dream that Ahadi had, he would not allow Taka to become the heir to the throne out of fear that the Pride Lands would be brought to ruin under Taka's rule. Which eventually happened too... Because Ahadi tried to make sure Taka would never be king? Maybe...

I'd write even more on my little fanfiction, but my mind is mush right now due to my tiredness, so I'll save that for another time xP

This is a pretty mindblowing take on Mufasa and Scar's ages and Ahadi's reasons for choosing Mufasa

And just like every other idiot before him, Ahadi is just going to create the very problem that he's trying to avoid. This is why you always get a professional involved, even when interpreting a dream. That way you can avoid botching up life for future generations because you tried to be Mr. Do-It-Yourself.

Yes, I know, this is just me playing with an idea I had I thought what if they were twins, Mufasa was the second-born but the king chose him as his heir because of this "prophecy"? If Scar found out it would certainly give him the motivation to seize the throne - it was rightfully his! Purely fanon

I'm happy to know you are flattered Here is my favorite design of Uru, I see the perfect blend of Mufasa and Scar. I also like that stripe similar to Zira's.

Pardon my manners, I forget about Ahadi at times, I love how you and other people depict him with a black mane, unlike him looking like Mufasa's twin in the books.

Indeed...! He doesn't - Ahadi just assumes that "dark" referred to fur colour... My version of Ahadi is a decent king, but very superstitious and not as intelligent as his queen, which starts a chain of events that ends in disaster. Fun stuff to play around with, hehe... xD

'One often meets one's destiny on the road to avoid it'.

Don't blame Ahadi for knowing something was wrong. In my opinion, whether he took measures or not it would have been a bad outcome. If he had given the throne to Taka in the first place then instead of a short reign of tyranny Scar would be cemented into the pride with no one to contest him. It would have been worse.

So Scar was born first born? so I guess he calls Mufasa "big brother" as a nickname then. Great imagination and that's probably why Ahadi didn't teach Scar anything and concentrated more on Mufasa because he knows that Scar would corrupt the natural order of the kingdom if he were to gain information that only the true king is supposed to know.

But I also feel bad for Ahadi and Uru because the dark prince is their own son, their child, their own flesh and blood. Uru may be upset and heartbroken that Ahadi is telling her that Scar will not be a good king even if he was the first born, but it must kill Ahadi that his son is the dark prince who would bring chaos into the pridelands if he becomes king.

He really loves his children, but it must weigh heavy on his heart that his son will grow up to become a bad person and will one day kill his "little" brother and blame his grandson for his death so he will run away/get killed so he will achieve his goal in becoming king.

EffraSorbus In reply to WhitePedal25 [2013-04-28 15:41:33 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, that is basically what my thoughts behind this little story were An ironic fate for this family...

Thank you very much for such a thoughtful comment!

WhitePedal25 In reply to EffraSorbus [2013-04-28 15:47:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes, besides Ahadi must be a good father but hearing that Scar/Taka caused trouble as a cub he must know that his mother was right when she told him in his dream. Whether they want to believe it or not, like it or not Scar is just bad person regardless if he was first born or not and would bring misery to the lands.

You're welcome

Stunning picture Yeah in the film Scar says to Mufasa 'why, isn't it my big brother descending from the heights to mingle with the commoners' i don't know if this is the exact line, but i do remember the big brother part. So Mufasa is first born, but I get you are switching it up which is cool makes it more edgy

Thank you!

And, yeah, I know the script off by heart xD But I thought for this theory, what if it's all a lie? After all, the only ones who would really know the truth were Uru and Ahadi. And, accidentally, Scar... I don't think he would mention it to anyone else, and I think it would make him very bitter towards his family... Playing around with theories is fun
