Leo lead his daughter Timira through the Pridelands until they soon came upon the watering hole where a few heard animals were quenching their thirst. He sauntered over to a near by tree to lounge in the shade. Timira stopped for a moment before he patted the ground next to him, beckoning her to join him.

"You certainly know your way around the Pridelands." She said before laying down. "Your mother gave me daily tours while I lived here for a short time." He replied. Timira didn't know where to start. She had so many questions to ask her newly found father. He could see her mind running wild.

"So your mother never mentioned me, eh?" He asked with a smirk.

"Once or twice when I was very young, when Shetani's father returned to see her." She said. "Why didn't you ever return to see me?" She asked, trying to hide the hurt in her voice.

"I'm here now, aren't I?" He replied. "And your uncle doesn't seem to like me much. I'm not even suppose to be in his kingdom right now. It wasn't safe for me to come see you, you know. But I've taken that chance."

Before Timira could ask why her Uncle Chaka wasn't a fan of him, he quickly continued on.

"I'm so glad to have come all this way to see you. You are just as beautiful as your mother was when I met her. I only wish your grandfather could have met you..." he said, with exaggerated despair.

"My grandfather?" Timira asked inquisitively.

"Yes, my father. He passed not long after you were born I suppose...But, there is always hope you will meet your Aunts and Uncle..."

Timira's ears perked. "You mean, I have more family I haven't met?"

Leo chuckled. "Of course! I wasn't born out of thin air, I come from a loving family too, you know."

Timira smiled shyly at her stupidity. She could hardly believe it though, all this family appearing out of no where, and her mother had never said anything about them...

"Oh my brother and sisters would rejoice at the sight of you. You would be the water to our dry, dying Pride..." He exclaimed. "Dying??" she asked, concerned. Leo knew he had her attention, right where he wanted her.

"Timira, let me tell you why I've really come all this way to see you. My dear brother Ghana is crippled. He got in a fight with a rogue that one of our sisters brought home, who tried to take over our pride. Since then, my sisters do not wish to mate with anyone in fear of them trying to hurt us again, and so, there are no cubs. You, my daughter, are the only heir to our pride we have. You are our long lost princess I've come to bring home."

Timira gasped. "Princess?"

Leo suddenly caught a glimps of Chaka and some of his pride heading down a path towards them in the far distance. Timira didn't seem to have noticed yet. "There is so much I see your mother hasn't told you, and I wish to teach you so much, but it's getting late in the afternoon, I should really be heading back home...It's a long journey for a lion to travel alone." He said, trying to move things along.

But Timira felt like there was still so much to know and learn about her father and the other side of her family she'd never even met. "Wait, you can't go now, I've only just begun to know you!" She complained. He smiled sweetly at her.

"My sweet child, I'll tell you what. You're a grown lioness now, already on your first hunt! I will wait for you tonight by the old shamans tree if you'd like to accompany me back to the desert to meet your Aunts and Uncle. They would love to meet their only niece. You don't have to stay, I don't expect you to make that decision right now. But just come and meet them. They will love you. And I'll bring you home safely the next day." He offered.

Timira pondered at the option of going with her father. "I'll have to tell my mother first that I'm going with you." Leo knew this would not work out in his favor. "Your mother will say no." He said. "But if you wish to come, I'll be waiting in the dark for you until the sun begins to rise. Then I'll be on my way."

With that, he stood, and bumped against her head gently with his in affection. "Remember, your mother may not like me, but I'll always be your father." And he began to walk away.

"I hope to see you later." He called over his shoulder before disappearing in to the long grass.

A few moments later, Chaka could be seen walking at a quick pace towards her with Shani and Shetani in tow.

Back at Pride Rock, after being scolded for going off with Leo by her mother, Timira angrily stormed into the den. Shetani soon sauntered in after her, and flopped down in front of her.

"I'm sorry mom yelled at you." She said. Timira didn't say anything.

"Mom said he attacked Uncle Chaka before you were born, why would you think it's still a good idea to go with him to the desert?" She asked.

"Maybe he just wanted to bring his pride to the Pridelands. He said he lived here for a while..." Timira said. "Maybe he just didn't get to know him."

"Well, why don't you ask mom to tell you what happened back then? Maybe you'll get some answers you need before you go running off."

Timira frowned at her adopted sister. "I've asked mom about my father a hundred times when I was a cub. Especially when yours came to find you! She never answers anything I ask, and always brushed me off." She said angrily. Shetani's face saddened.

Timira took a deep breath in, and exhaled. "Shetani, I've gone my whole life not knowing who my father is, and now he's here; I can't just let him go back home and disappear out of my life again, especially with him willing to answer my questions, and introduce me to family I've never even heard of!..." she trailed off at the end, and Shetani perked her ears in curiosity. Timira's big blue eyes gazed into her sisters. "Shetani, they need me. If I go with him, I'll become...a princess."

Shetani was taken aback. "...What?"

Timira explained the desert pride's situation, and how it excited her thinking she could be a princess, just like their cousin Aisha.

"Remember when we were cubs, we'd take turns playing Queen of the Pridelands, and Naba would always play the King? They get to actually BE King and Queen one day, while we will always just be members of the pride. I Want to be a princess, and be someone important to a pride. And I can Be important in my fathers pride. Shetani, I want to go with him."

Shetani sighed.

"Mom's gonna be so mad to find out we've gone." She said.

"We?" Timira asked.

"Well I'm not letting you go with him, even if he is your dad. I still don't trust him..."

Timira smiled. "I can never shake you, can I?" she said, jokingly. Shetani laughed. "Nope, never. I'll always protect my little sister." Timira was secretly glad.

"Then lets go, we leave now."
