original work [link] bythank you, great reference; well, that's an amazing photo but I think there's something missing so I decided to put a leaf on the water to fill up the gap
this one is a work I have to hand in in two weeks, so I still accept critiques and advices, thank you all

I like that you added the leaf, adds something to the empty space. I also like how you added the light colors to the water, like sunlight or something. I also think maybe adding ripples in the water would add some movement to the fish, but it looks fine without it

this is a great realization of the original
the only thing I'd mention is that the trasition of the water where the koi is swimming doesn't show that clearly. As it is it looks like the koi is not moving at all, it's also difficult to tell whether the koi is in the water or out of it (like floating ^^) Maybe you could add some ripples/tiny waves at the front
The shading of the water looks great. It's like you can see the sunlit ground

well, at first I didn't notice it. It was just while comparing the tho pictures that I realized that the water in your picture as no surface
maybe some highlight would do the trick? ... I don't know ^,^since it's an oil painting it is hard to do corrections with the time it needs to dry and all ..
but it's a beautiful work nontheless

ya, it's true, I've had some problems due to the paint was wet XD, well soon on this week I'll change a few details so I could try
