Today, March 28th, is Terry Pratchett's birthday!
It seemed only fitting to celebrate by devoting a new cupcake recipe to him - one reminiscent of his favourite cocktail, the Banana Daiquiri!

What a sweet way to celebrate his birthday - and thank you for sharing with the rest of us
Love the composition of this picture - shows the already yummy looking treats off very nicely and the actual daquiri there too is even better. 
And for the obligatory quote (because this has set it on loop in my head) - Nanny Ogg knew how to start spelling banana, but she didn't know how you stopped.
Also - here's to Pratchett experiencing more birthdays with his mind mostly intact.

My boyfriend (who's far more of a Discworld junkie than me) was peeking over my shoulder while I typed the recipe, and he quoted exactly the same passage. X-D
No laptops were harmed in the shooting of this pic, but putting a frosted cupcake on my keyboard was nerve-wrecking. :-p

XD He would - it's really a Nanny Ogg classic and obligatory in context. Nothing wrong with being a Discworld junkie, btw - or well, *I* am, lemme put it like that instead. Completely inadvisable to snicker when a quote pops into your head at inappropriate moments.
Really? That got you scared? Huh. It was encased in paper, the frosting doesn't seem to be dripping...where was the danger? Okay, I am not nice to what I put next to (or eat at) my computer, but after having spilled blackberry juice into a computer, it takes quite a bit to scare me. Kudos on your bravery, though
Any chance of you doing other Discworld cuisine inspired stuff? Like something out of Vimes' fruit drink thing from Snuff?
...and I am apparently absentminded enough that I get through writing all of that before it occurs to me what I'm munching on; a banana. Seriously. Doh. XD

IKR? It happens to me all the time. "I cherish my ignorance on the subject" is the one quote I've got the most mileage from, though. :-p
Weeell... you never know. I'm very guilty of eating/drinking coffee while using my laptop, and I've got as many crumbs in my keyboard as the next person, but placing a friggin' cupcake on it felt a bit like defying Fate. I was all like, "Pleasepleaseplease don't topple..."
And yes, I'll most definitely keep cupcake-ifying the Disc! I have a few characters planned already...
