I made this cake to celebrate the 8th birthday of a child who just loves the Super Mario Bros. games.It was my first serious effort at modelling figures out of fondant, and to this day it's the cake I'm most proud of! (despite a few boo-boos in the stripes...)
Inside it's a chocolate mudcake with apricot jelly filling. Yummy!

He ate two big slices of the cake (which is impressive since it was mighty chocolatey) but refused to eat Mario and Luigi... LOL, such a cute kid!
