Bio Page for ChopsI'm a bit behind this week in trying to ink and color about 5 comic pages that are long overdue. I'm gonna try and get a page done for Zodiac this week as well but I wanted to give you this at least.

This epic got off to a quiet start, but I've grown to love the heroes & heroines. I even like this guy ! He has strong principles.

Reminds me of the superhero Puck of Alpha Flight. Seriously vertically challanged due to achrondoplasia, strength of a full-sized man .He spent the entire 1st issue just trying to get to the battle (with Tundra,one of the Great Beasts, no less !)and got to the area when the fight was all over. So he beat up Vindicator instead !
Like Chops, he was also a bouncer. He also would cartwheel for maximum speed and to knock opponents down. John Byrne, however, began messing up the character....He should have STAYED just an achrondoplastic mutant.

Fantastic bio on Chops. I can believe this guy can be a nasty surprise for some of the nega-zodiac crew.
One of my current Furry-Supers RP chars is a non-super wolverine SWAT team member and their animal types occupy similar ecological niches.
My wolverine is expected to back up supers or take on villans until the supers show up, and the stock animal can take insane amounts of damage and still whup a grizzly bear. I see no reason these traits cannot cross over to the anthros, and have written him as having beaten a villan up after soaking up damage until they were nose to nose. I think giving either of these two guys superpowers would be guilding the lilly...

I like the sound of that.
I try not to play too much into the animal stereotypes and abilities in Zodiac so you might find a wolverine there who is not tough or fierce just as you might find an ugly fox or a really physically fit and tidy pig. However, they do really work sometimes.
People who can do heroic things without powers are always impressive. Batman being the prime example.
Having powers does not by itself make them heroes. Heroes sacrifice and give because it is the right thing to do and most importantly, they do it for reasons greater than themselves.

Off topic- For that hair (refering to PS) do you use Overlay and Screen in Brush mode, or Overlay in brush mode and then applying the Screen Layer? I'm still figuring off the best way to pull this off.

For the hair I often do both. I put on an overlay in very thin brushstrokes and I do another layer with screen to add the shine.

I'm glad I saw this on FA, because as it is posted on this 'new version' of DA, it's very blurry.
I can't even 'fave' it, was this new DA software supposed to be EASIER to use?
Anyway, I do love Chops as a great supporting character for Zodiac. Great art as always, Egg (even though DA is not displaying it well)

Yeah, but he keeps himself is pretty good shape. Chops is based on an uncle of mine that used to own a nightclub and had a similar physique.
