Thant is what I was thinking but wasn't 100% sure. Did you use a masking fluid for the foam in the wave or did you paint white on to? I am just getting back into water color painting myself and my work tends to be very controlled. I like the fluidity of you work.

I use masking fluid. I think that white paint on top of watercolor most often looks like it is glued on. It just doesn't look good to me.

To avoid that pasted on look, I try to make the edges ragged when I apply masking, and I often spray or spunge off some color just at the edge of the masking fluid. I also treat the edges after I have removed the masking, if it is neccessary.
