HEY YO CLICK ON "DOWNLOAD" TO SEE THE WIP GIF FILE.Yeeeah so I said after doing the James Franco drawing that I wasn't going to do realism again for a long, long time. Well, I guess that means I'm a lying liar.
So in case you couldn't tell from the title, this is Hugh Laurie from House, which is a super special awesome show and man is he good lookin'. I finally caught up on the third season a little while ago and am looking very much forward to the season four premiere.
Uh so about the actual drawing... yeah done in Photoshop with a 3-px hard brush, loads of crosshatching, a tablet, and, of course, a reference. Also I know I totally crapped out on the hair, but I decided that there would be enough chances for it to torture me once I colored it, so yeah. And I spent like six hours on this because I am slow and pathetic, yay!
I guess that's really all I have to say. Again, click on download to see an animated WIP, whoohoo.
Will move into scraps if I ever finish the colored version.

jajaj man, dont get me wrong, i loved the drawing, though with your kindo of technique, its just good... you can do so much better im sure of it... and don't get angry.. constuctive crytisism helps actually... and jealous? only that u have a pc draw pad and i dont xD lol... i should bye one soon...

It's rather odd. When I saw this image through browse I totally thought "Hugh Laurie", yet upon seeing it in higher detail it became a bit less straight forward.
Don't take that to be offensive, truly, I found it rather telling of our own ability to identify characteristics.
Regardless, amazing work and I look forward to seeing more.

Oh wow, the finished pic turned out really well (and you finished it so quickily)! It really does look like Hugh Laurie/House. You captured the intense look in the eyes perfectly. The cross hatching and the level of contrast is very nice also. You know I gotta fav this now.
