a real cultural touchstone, those movies were... everyone saw them, everyone knew the songs, whenever a new Bond actor was announced it was a big deal... I don't think much of Roger Moore's Bond now, but I remember enjoying those movies so much at the theater.

I agree, it's a nice detail. It makes the image more "varied" and interesting and livens up the composition. I'd leave it in as well.
