This was not meant to be accurate to current available evolution schemes, but rather to fix the mistake in logic in this evolution line. But for compatibility purposes for a hypothetical game, it would be an incense, but evolves like normal at a specific level in said hypothetical game.

Well, there isn't any "point" to any of the other pre evos, so that wouldn't even be the point of having an Onix pre-evo in the first place. Many of the pre evos, Elekid, Magby, etc, are NOT available in the wild, so ease of availability is a null factor. The point is that, with the previously mentioned pre evolutions, Sugimori wanted to create a cute baby form, and with this one, I made it out of logical reasoning, because it makes absolutely zero sense that Onix come straight out of the egg that huge. Take large dinosaurs for example. They're huge, and yet their young are incredibly small compared to the adults, and then they gain mass quickly, so the baby form would evolve into Onix at a relatively young level, say 15 within certain conditions, with pre evos it's usually high level of friendship.

So pretty much you think every large Pokemon needs a pre-evo because it 'makes sense'? This is Pokemon, does it 'make sense' to have a giant turtle with cannons?

You know, the Onix doesn't have to be hatched fully sized, it can grow from a small form without needing to evolve.

The proportions don't translate correctly when shrunken down to the size of what the young would be. I made it because it made sense to me, end of story. I can spend all day trying to explain it to someone who can't see it, or I can be realistic and see that this a futile effort. Look, I can tell that you have a completely different version of what makes sense than I do, and nothing I can say will change your mind, because you exhibit the stubborn quality of one who is outspoken in their beliefs (that often happens to me, too). Many other people can see a pre-evolution form of Onix easily, and I guess that you just aren't one of them. What can I say, a hater's gonna hate and a lover's going to love. There's not much one can do to change that.
