Looks like Javi has finally run out of luck. Probably deserved it though, poking around in some ancient temple or some other equally dubious place no doubt.

Silly dogs barked him up a tree after taking a chunk out of him, or something, he very well may have run into a sharp twig on the way up XD

And yes. this IS a picture to start up some RP 8D

also, I hate his hair in this. and got lazy with his legs and coloring blah blah blah you know the drill. but really... that hair.. doesnt look anything like its supposed to ;-;

Javi (c) me

"Korby?" Javi asked, "Whose, sounds leik korbl" He half mumbled. A brief soothing sensation washed over him as Zaina brushed his hair just like his mom always used to do.

He let his eyes look up to the sky, the clouds where so beautiful today. Strange, he thought, In all the books and old tales wasn't the sky supposed to turn dark bloody colors and churn up a nasty storm?

ah, that was right. This was real, no silly tales to spin here. Just him, his mistakes, and his consequences. At least his friend was okay he thought idly. To think he had a friend so strong that she could take on a whole pack of dogs alone and come out uninjured. Oh yes, the dogs. That was why his side hurt. The memory came flashing back to him sending pain through his body again as he re lived being tackled by one of them. He had been walking around some ruins and completely off guard when the dog had barreled into him. Its teeth latching onto his side immediately sending Javi to the ground where the dog began to viciously shake him back and fourth. He remembered lots of screaming.

And now come to think of it. The damage was probably his fault. Instead of prying the dogs teeth from him or killing it, in his panic he had literally ripped himself away from the beast and started running.

Javis fingers dug into the dirt as he clenched his teeth against the memory.

Korbl frowned the best he could, motioning Yelsah to be seated. He walked over to where Javi lay, pressing the back of his hand against Javi's forehead, checking for fever. He felt the slight temperature rise but otherwise it didn't seem like the monkey had a fever. He stared at the makeshift bandage, hesitant to move it. Moving it would probably cause it to bleed more, but something had to be done... "Okay, SshhJavi" He said, wiping at his drooling mouth. "I needsh you to hold sshtill." He pulled out a dagger from his collar, slicing away at the makeshift bandage until he could see the wound. He offered the dagger to Zaina so she could take off her bandage as well. It was pretty deep, and since it was from a wild dog, the risk of infection was high. He pulled out another leaf, reaching up to place it on Javi's tongue. "Ssshuck it." He informed, shoving the numbing paste to one side of his mouth so he wouldn't swallow it. "Will fight infecsshhion." From the collar he pulled out a very small flask of alcohol, pouring it over the wound and placing a hand on Javi's chest to calm him and stop him from squirming too much. He studied the wound, pouring the alcohol where needed to clean it. He then handed the flask to Zaina. "You do the sshame." He motioned to her leg.

Back to the collar again, pulling out a neatly formed wad of what appeared to be hair. Zebra hair, to be exact. He pulled out a small amount of paste from his mouth and rubbed it in around the wound, numbing it. He then quickly threaded a needle and began sewing, moving quickly. It wasn't long before the wound was closed tight and the blood began to stop flowing. He pulled out more numbing paste and mixed it with some herbs, then applied generously to the wound. After some time, the numbing would soon spread to move the monkey's abdomen, and the herbs would help stop any infection. He then worked around Javi's body, spreading the numbing solution anywhere that was needed, any open wound. "Okay, for the nexsht few weeksh you shhould take it easshy. Come back to me to get the sshtitchhses taken out." He furrowed his eyebrows, frowning at Javi. "No more trouble, okay?" When he was finished, he turned his attention to the lioness. "Okay, sshZaina, i'm going to do the ssshame to you now." Although it felt awkward to touch her. He gently took her leg which she had cleaned with alcohol, the bloody sash somewhere nearby. He frowned and shook his head, spitting out some more paste to rub on the wound. He offered her the same type of leaf that Javi had sucked on. "It'll tashte bitter, but you hash to do it." He said apologetically. "Can't rishk infecsshion." He couldn't help but feel awkward, touching a lady's leg....but it had to be done. He spat out more paste and mixed it with the anti-bacterial herb mix and applied it around the wound. "Hold sshtill." He mumbled, though she would probably already know that by now. He made quick work of the stitching, then applied more numbing paste. It would probably numb her entire leg. He also looked at any other scratches, using up the last of the numbing paste in his mouth.

Once finished, he stood up and admired his handy work with a frown, his arms crossed against his chest. He didn't really have anything to wrap the wounds with...and the old wraps simply were too bloody. The paste would dry and stop bleeding, but it was still a good idea to wrap the wounds. "I don't have anything to wrap the woundsh." He said with a sigh. "And we need to get you guysh back to shhafety before any more dogsh come." He studied the two of them, and both didn't seem like they would be too heavy. He spread is wings out and shook the feathers into place. "I think I can fly you to shafety." He said, narrowing his eyes slightly. He wasn't sure if he was offering them...or ordering them. "I can wrap your woundsh at my place and give you teassh to drink to further help you."

Zaina sighed a little when Korby stared working on Javi. She scooted back and out of the way so he could work freely. She stayed close though, hovering worriedly. The older man gave her some things to do herself which she did as best she could. Mostly though she watched over Javi quietly, and gently tussled his hair when he looked to be in the most pain.

With him all done Korby moved on to her and she had to bite her tongue to keep from screaming. It hurt! But she had a feeling it would've been a lot worse without whatever he'd given her. She watched with curious eyes as he tended to her wound, recalling the last time she'd seen him doing this. She wondered if this was some kind of punishment for that. Once he'd finished she smiled a little. "Thanks Korby." she said happy that everything had turned out okay.

"Oh? You can carry us both?" She asked looking hopeful. "Javi, are you okay with that?" She turned to give the monkey a cautious glance. Would he be able to take the trip.

Javi grit his teeth together as Korbl sewed him back together. At the first prick, despite the herbs Javi hissed at the sensation. But kept as quiet as he could through the rest of the ordeal, until the silly man decided to poor some insane potion onto his side Javis body tried to respond to what felt like fire by lurching up but a strong hand held him down instead. His brain quickly figured that it was most likely for the best and Javi went back to looking at the sky. He hoped Korbl wouldn't notice that he had swallowed whatever it was he was supposed to be chewing a few minutes ago.

Then the man moved over to work on Zaina. Javi watched him carefully, trying to take what mental notes he could should this happen again and no one be around. Scratch that, it had already happened before and it was nasty. Not as nasty as this time but- He refocused. His hand found Zainas and he held it as she herself bit back a few yelps.

Then Korbl offered to carry them. Javi didn't need to think about his answer much. "Help me up" he asked, he was pulled to the sitting position and he put his hands on the ground as if to hold the world still. He looked Korbl up and down and gave him a grin " Dun' wan to sound rude "Korby" But I'm too fat for you" his eyes crinkled in mirth at his own joke. he hadn't eaten for a few days.

But all joking aside he glanced the direction the hyena girl had gone. "Take Zaina first" He said flatly.

Korbl shifted uncomfortably, looking back and forth between the two of them. He sighed when Javi told him to take Zaina first. He wasn't sure if it was such a good idea to leave him here.... but, if he flew quickly, it may still be okay. "Alright, Javi." He said after a moment, walking to his collar and putting it back on his shoulders. He picked up the dagger he had cut the bandages and held it out to Javi. "Just in case." He wasn't sure if the monkey had any weapon with him, so to be safe, he figured it would be best to leave it with him. He then flew up in the air quickly and hovered for a minute, his sharp vision staring out into the seemingly endless void. There were no signs of the wild dogs and if he moved quickly, hopefully nothing would happen. He slowly floated back down to the ground and walked to Zaina where she sat. "Alrighty, hang on Ssshzaina." He put one arm behind her knees and the other wrapped around her, pulling her tight to his body. It was easier to fly with woman this way. Flying would Javi would be slower since the monkey would have to be on his back. "If you are ssshcared of really high heightsht then clossh your eyesh." He murmered to her, shifting her weight in his arms slightly before lifting himself off the ground. Before he took off he turned his head back to Javi. "Be on guard, my friend."

Flying with Zaina was easy and he made quick work in the skies, zooming over the blurry landscape. It took him only a few minutes to find his house, landing roughly on his balcony because of him wanting to rush back to Javi. He forced himself to wait a moment, walking into the house with Zaina and sitting her down in one of his chairs. Gooky appeared, taking note of Zaina's injuries and cooing with some sadness. She hopped over to Zaina and lightly brushed her beak across Zaina's good leg. Korbl scurried over to his bedroom and returned with bandages, handing her them. "Alright, when I return with Javi, i'll brew a tea. Don't trusht Gooky to do it, she may get you high." He said, trying to lighten the mood. "There ish food in the kitchen, help yourshelf." Even though she would already know that, since she once had stayed here.

When he was sure that the lioness was all set in his house he dashed out the door and took to the sky, the winds were starting to pick up and thunder could be heard somewhere in the distance. He flew close to the ground to avoid being toppled over by the high winds in the air streams above.

Zaina wanted to protest her going first. She was in much better shape and far more capable of fending off any predators. It didn't make any sense no matter how you looked at it. But she knew they'd fight her on it so she bit her tongue to keep from speaking out against the idea. It would only waste time arguing.

Before she was taken to safety she slipped off one of her brown bracelets and placed it in Javi's hands. "Here, take this too, it's part of a set so you have to be sure to give it back to me or I won't forgive you." She stated calmly glaring at him. She didn't fight Korbl lifting her up and held onto him as best she could. "I'm not afraid." she said a little timidly. If it wasn't for the circumstance, she'd be a little excited. She'd never flown before.

The ride was painful but she couldn't enjoy herself with Javi out there all alone. They touched down at his house and she was half expecting the other crow to be there. She was placed in a chair and Gooky popped over to say hello. "Oh hi Gooky, you look lovely today." she said smiling tiredly. She glanced over at Korby and nodded. "Right just be careful." she said softly. It smelled of rain and she hoped it held off till everyone was safe. She watched him fly off and sighed, turning back to Gooky. "Like I could eat anything right now." she said bemused and looked back to the door with a quiet expectation.

Sephiri was about ready to collapse. She had found Kinu and they were both sprinting back to where she had left Javi and Zaina, her having not stopped for a break. But she was more than positive they had it worse than her so she said nothing and just pushed herself to keep going. Something was off though, she had left both of them here but Zaina's scent was only lingering as opposed to strong.

She skidded to a stop a decent distance away from the monkey, she didn't need him throwing up again if she got too close.

"The lioness..." she said, sniffing the air. "A crow took her?" She looked to Kinu for confirmation, knowing his nose was as good as if not better than hers. She took another small step back from the monkey before addressing him again. "Kinu can carry you back, I'll scout ahead for any trouble that might come up."

Javi looked up at Zaina when she put the bracelet in his hands "You got it boss" He smiled weakly. He waited till Korbl was out of sight to struggle to his feet. It wasn't as hard as he thought it would be, it was his side that was injured not his foot after all, plus the medicine was still working wonders.

The Hyena girl appeared not 5 minutes later, however she stopped a ways off and shouted something at him about Kinu. Javi shook his head and waved his hand in the air for them to come closer, then shouted as best he could " Just the Hyena!"

Sephiri hissed lightly. "I could always knock him out and then you could carry him home" she whispered to Kinu. She was joking... mostly. With a sigh she started walking over to the monkey, careful not to stumble despite how much her muscles were screaming at her. She stopped a couple of steps away from him, still not wanting to have him go nuts because she was a hyena and she was too close.

"I can't do anything else for you, I'm not a healer and the lion will be faster getting you back than I will" she said to him bluntly. She still had Zaina's scarf around her chest and she was in no hurry to point out that the bandages on him had come from her.

Kinu had only gotten a vague impression of what was going on - however, being met by a bloodied Sephiri whom had spoken about Zaina being injured had been enough for him to simply follow her. He could tell she was upset, too, and he focused on following her to wherever this had been going on rather than asking all the important questions immediately. The smell of blood got stronger the closer they got to their destination, and Kinu really had to wonder... What had happened? Something with dogs. And blood. And injuries, obviously. He could tell Zaina had been there... but she was nowhere to be seen. Only what appeared to be a heavily injured monkey... Where was Zaina?

"Crow" He confirmed quietly, stopping when Sephiri stopped at a good distance from the monkey but then started walking closer. He didn't know why Sephiri didn't walk closer, but she likely had her reasons. He waved them closer, even... and shouted, so completely dead or close to, he wasn't. You can't shout like that if you are too weakened. Great. He didn't really care what the monkey said though, he didn't get it. 'Just the hyena'? Just the hyena what?

Zaina had heard the barking a ways off. But she was busy so she ignored it at first. But it continued on and getting irritated she headed over to scatter the wild beasts and save her sanity. Heading closer she stopped in her tracks when she seen that the animals had someone stuck in a tree. Focusing her gaze she could see it was Javi. Alarmed and angry she dashed forward, streaking across the area at top speed and launched herself into one of the yapping dogs. She rolled a few times with it and sprang back just in time to avoid another one of the dogs vicious attack. Her feet hit the ground again and a searing pain stabbed just under her calf and traveled up her leg. A mistake. She'd made a mistake here. There were more dogs then she'd realized. She kicked the dog that was chomping on her leg and flipped back and away. The wild beast were trained on her now so she spared a glance up to the monkey. She'd smelled the blood earlier so she wasn't surprised to see him hurting up there. Her and the dogs had reached an impasse. She couldn't save the monkey without at least harming some of the dogs. But, there were so many. Her left leg throbbed painfully, a reminder that she couldn't afford to make any more mistakes.

Sitting atop his perch, Javi didn't know what he was going to do from here. He couldn't think and the dogs braying at his feet were not helping in the slightest. He rolled his head to the side in both annoyance and pain. One of the dogs turned to face away from the tree, Javi's eyes turned to follow its.

His hitched in a breath when he saw who was coming. His fingers tightening around his wound even more now despite the shocks it sent shooting through his body. Zaina, his proud warrior friend. Though he knew she could fight the last place he wanted her to see him was in such a weakened state over a small wound as this. And he didn't want her to get hurt.

Which is is precisely what happened. Before he could even think properly she was beneath him fighting off the dogs. He heard the sharp yelp of a dog and leaned forward to see its body sprawled on the ground, he would have grinned until he saw the dogs turning ALL of their attention to her the , and her ankle was bleeding.

A dog pressed too close to the tree and Javi took his chance. He jumped and pulled out his dagger while he fell, landing almost directly on top of the dog he jammed the blade between its shoulders. The wild dog let out a sharp yelp before falling still.

Weakest first. That's what she'd been raised and taught to do. Her years of hunting and the experience she got from doing so enabled her to spot her first victim. She leapt over the small crowd of snapping teeth and swiping claws to land on one of them. She wasted no time in gouging it's eyes out and sinking her teeth into it's neck. She ripped it clean and it slumped forward. She dogged two of them and was grazed by another, cutting her arm.

She jumped back drawing them away a bit and glanced over to see Javi had taken out one. The yelping cries pulled a few of them over to the monkey. The lioness wasn't having that and ran back around to cut them off. She growled a warning, her teeth and face stained with blood that was slowly pooling near her chest and turning her yellow top orange in places.

One of the dogs jumped at her and she narrowly missed having her face chewed off. She kicked at another one that attacked and shifted out of the way a bit. Breathing heavily and lightly wounded. She wasn't sure if... she was going to be able to do this. Her leg wasn't doing so hot. "Javi..." She called out, risking a moment to inquire after him. "You okay?" The dogs stared her down, ready to jump should she show a sign of weakness. They were going to wait them out. It would be easy to take her alone once she'd exhausted herself. Stupid! Another careless mistake!

Javi yanked out his dagger by the leather attached to its hilt (( His weapon is two daggers tied to each other )) "Could be better" he half grinned half grimaced. Standing up straight seemed to be the last thing his body wanted him to do. To be honest, he was getting a little dizzy and a quick glance down told him why. The blood from his side was now staining his pants. Wonderful, blood stains were a pain to get out.

He was a little bit taken aback by the viciousness of her attack, himself being a little aprehensive to even attack the dogs in the first place. As the two stood virtually back to back facing the pack of wild dogs he realized that they had two options. "One, " He said " kill the leader and send then running. Or two, I could use my flash bangs and try to get away in the confusion." His quick mind was slowing down and he had run out of clever ideas a long time before Zaina showed up.

A dog jumped from his side and he threw his knife at it, the leather wrapped around its throat and brought the dog to its stomach, he quickly yanked the end he still had a hold on and stepped on the other and broke the dogs neck. Another had followed the dogs lead and jumped at him, Javi thrust the other dagger upwards, piercing its chest. It landed on top of the other.

And he tried. Oh how he tried.
But he couldn't bring himself to stand.
His knees refused to straighten, and vision refused to focus. He vaugly acknowledged blood seeping from his shirt to drip to the ground.
Pathetic, he thought as he heard his friend continuing to fight behind him. She was wounded as well yet still going. While he was here, useless. It angered him more than anything.
No. He thought. No he wouldn't stay here. He grit his teeth and stood abruptly, placing a hand on the tree for balance.
"Any ideas?" He breathed through a grin.

The pack of dogs had now dwindled down a bit but she was struck by an odd sense. What were they doing? She wiped at her face, sweat was plastering her curly hair to her face. She snarled at one of the dogs since it had shifted slightly. She was glad to hear the monkey reply and cast a look behind her at him. "Well, you look beautiful." She said jokingly as she winced, hissing in pain as her own wounds reminded her they were there.

All that blood, she could see he was loosing a lot. What could they do, they'd been strategically surrounded. She battled a another dog off by jut punching it between the eyes. The animal fell limp and her knuckles cracked. "Oww." She roared lightly in pain. Great, more damage. The sound backed some of the dogs up enough for them to breath.

"Flash bombs?" She asked eyeing the leader of the pack as she pondered the idea. "Yes, let's do that... neither of us is going to outlast these things." She said grimacing in pain.

She got no reply and turned her head fully to see he was getting worse, he couldn't even stand. She turned back to the dogs and kicked one hard as it approached. It was then she heard him speak a again and she turned back smiling tiredly. "Throw your bombs, then we run..." She said. They had no choice but to retreat. She fixed a feral glare on the leader, a promise to track it down one day and slit it's throat for hurting her friend. "Give me your bombs." She demanded holding out her hand behind her. "I can run faster then you, and you need a head start. Head north." She stated evenly, she wouldn't take a no at this point.

And Javi wasn't going to argue. His once tricky fingers fumbled at the flaps that held his small bombs. He placed them in Zaina's outstretched palm. "They explode on hard impact" He rasped. " So toss em' hard."
And that she did.
The second he saw her arm shoot up he took off. Pressing off the tree he ran. What direction did she say? North. The sun was.. He could barely see. The sun was there so this was north. He was sure of it.

He was making surprisingly good distance when his foot caught a rock the wrong way and we went fell/ rolled he tried to get to his feet again but simply staggered halfway up before falling sideways.

He wasn't getting up soon he knew that by the way the corners of his vision was blurred out by a threatening black. His fingers twitched as his vision continued to fade.

Finally a run gone wrong. He thought wryly.

Hopefully Zaina was okay.

Sephiri knew something was off. She had been wandering outside of boundaries and there was an uneasy feeling with the animals. When she spotted vultures overhead she followed them. If anything it's just be a dead animal and she could get a free meal. The closer she got the faster she went. It wasn't just the scent of a meal on the air, there was a lion if she was right, and one she recognised. She broke out into a run, catches the monkeys scent as well and a hell of a lot of wild dogs.

She would have preferred hyenas, they liked her and they'd back off if she came in agressivley. Wild dogs sometimes were intimidated but other times... well she was hoping this would be one where they be intimidated.

As she got closer she spotted the monkey running and tripping. He was out and he needed patched up badly. But up ahead if she focused she could make out Zaina and she was throwing... oh shit. That was going to make them angry.

She couldn't help the monkey without helping Zaina first. The girl was a lion, but she was nice and she helped out Nuru and Hasani. So she sprinting forward and skidded to a stop in front of the lioness while the dogs started going into a frenzy over the flashes. She quickly made herself as aggressive as was possible, snarling and hissing at them with her teeth and claws bared. Hopefully this would work. If not she'd have to grab their attention and run while Zaina got Javi back home to a medic.

Zaina had only agreed to throw the things for the chance to get the leader. The flashes went off and she uncovered her eyes after the initial explosions. She focused her eyes on the leader and was planning to leap after it when the last person she expected to save her showed up. She was all snarls and claws, throwing off the already disoriented dogs. A few of them moved forward to lash out at her and she leapt up kicking one straight in the jaw.

She jumped back and clawed another one's face before turning to the hyena. "Hey, why are you here, go get Javi" She said breathlessly, pointing northward. "He's hurt, I don't know how bad. I've got this." She said putting on a brave face. She was actually having a hard time keeping up now. And her left hand was killing her. But the pack was being cut down to size. Only a handful remained. She could take 'em!

Sephiri stayed rooted to the spot until the dogs had went out of sight. She nodded at the leader as he turned back to look at her. She had a lot more respect for animals than most and didn't put herself that far above them.

Very slowly she came out of her aggressive stance and followed where Zaina had taken off to. With a sigh she started to undo the blue sash around Zaina's waist without bothering to ask. She had the thing off quickly and held it in her teeth while she undid the bandages around her chest. The idea of Zaina seeing her half naked didn't bother her in the least, but when the bandages were off she tied Zaina's sash around herself to cover herself up. Not everyone was as comfortable with seeing others like that, and she couldn't afford the lioness freaking out more than she was already.

"If I carry him back without at least bandaging him up a little, blood loss will kill him before we get anywhere" she explained clearly, starting to peel off Javi's jacket and handing it to the lioness. "We'll need to keep that, might have some sort of sentimental value." She peeled off his top as well and used it to try and wipe some of the blood away with it before pressing it against the wound. The monkey moaned a little in his sleep but that was to be expected. If he was concious he'd be screaming. "Okay, I'm going to need you to hold this onto him tight and sit him up. When I say so bring it off and I'll try get the bandages on quickly. After that you take the jacket and I'll take him. I'll be moving faster than you with that leg of yours, so you'll need to just keep yourself concious until I can get him help and come back to help you. Understand?" she said, looking at the lioness seriously.

Zaina was a bit perplexed at first. The blood loss and exhaustion taking it's toll after all the action. Her mind was fuzzy to say the least. She shifted her gaze back to Javi and only once Sephy explained did she. "Oh okay." she said her head swimming. It took all her mental focus she had left to process her words. Her actions were sluggish but she managed to as she said.

Her directions were fluid and simple and once she recovered from her ordeal she'd look back on it with a bit of admiration for the woman. But for now she was just simply relieved to have a hand. Alone they both surely would've perished.

Sephiri was somewhat relieved they managed to get the bandages one, but she knew that Zaina was worse than she thought. It wasn't an ideal situation. Her brain was running scenarios, tallying up the chances of a fatality in each one. She swiftly stood, taking Javi in her arms.

"Okay lioness, change of plans. You're going to walk with us. If your leg hurts that's just too bad, stop being a baby or I'll tell Kinu how pathetic you are and you know he won't be happy with that. You don't want to upset him do you?" she asked, starting to walk. She had to keep the lioness awake and keep her walking. Yes it would be bad for her leg, but if she passed out no there was no gaurantee of her waking up.

That plan was very quickly ruined when she saw just how bad her leg was. With it bleeding like that there was no way she'd make it... Damnit. She placed Javi down carefully again and tore off a big strip off the material on her chest, leaving her only just covered. Tying it tighty around Zaina's leg she grimaced at what was coming.

"Okay, I'm going to pick him up and then you're going to use my shoulder to put your weight on. Try and keep weight off that leg."

This was going to be a long long walk back. But she gave a short and loud bark every so often. If there were any hyenas in earshot they would come and help.

Zaina had attempted to follow the hyena and pretty much failed. But at the mention of Kinu being upset with her she tapped into some unknown power. She was still slow but moving. But her leg, it was a lot worse then she wanted to admit. But moving was keeping her mind from clouding over.

Seph wrapped her leg, pulling it tight, which hurt, but the blood needed to be stopped so she bared it. However the suggestion that she use the already burdened hyena was too much. "No!" She said standing tall. "You carry Javi, I'll keep up, You've done enough already. I draw the line here!" He wheezed breathlessly. "Kinu... wouldn't forgive me if I couldn't lick my own wounds and keep going." To make her point she started walking, slowly and still in pain but her actions were being forced by sheer determination.

Sephiri didn't move but rather let Zaina take those couple of steps on her own, assessing the way the lioness was moving. This wasn't good enough, she was do her leg in. Every bit of weight she put on it was causing it to bleed more.

"Zaina. Kinu would forgive you for this. He wouldn't forgive you if you killed yourself trying to hold on to your pride" she said levelly. She took a few steps forward and fell into step with the lioness, looking straight ahead. "He doesn't have to know. We'll tell him you saved me and Javi by taking the hit for us with your leg. We'll say you walked back on your own."

She had no problems with Kinu thinking she was weak and had to be saved by a lioness, but she saw the way Zaina looked at him. It'd destroy the girl if Kinu found out she was helped by a hyena. She didn't even glance at the lioness, just kept walking in time with her. Maybe that would make it easier for Zaina, if she acted like it wasn't happening. If she pretended that when Zaina put her weight on her, the lioness was actually walking by herself.

Zaina weighed her options. She didn't like them. She didn't want to have to rely on her, or anyone else. She gritted her teeth in pain and frustration. Reluctantly and with a lot of mental nagging she accepted the aid.

The fact that Seph was avoiding eye contact helped a little. A few tears trailed down her face. Emotionally charged ones that stemmed from the fact that she and Javi would be dead now if not for the hyena. She could've died. It would've been over, just like that. The thought scared her so much. She bit her lip to fight off the hiccuping sobs that sought to escape. A battle that waged on for a quite some time.

"I.... won't lie." She said once she'd calmed down enough to speak again. "I want Kinu to know that... I failed. It doesn't matter that your hyena. You could be a desert mouse for all I care. It's just that, I couldn't do it. I didn't even think about myself, I just didn't want Javi to get hurt." She lamented sadly. "Thank you." She mumbled, her voice barely a whisper. She was getting so tired. And she was slowing them down. Javi needed help.

Sephiri paid no mind to the tears. Zaina could sob her heart out and she'd simply pretend it wasn't happening. As long as the girl kept walking she couldn't care less if she screamed or sobbed. Carrying Javi plus having the weight of Zaina was rough, but she could handle it. After all, she hadn't been injured in the fight that Zaina and Javi had been having with the dogs. They were nearing boundaries as she barked out again. Hopefully there were a couple of hyenas somewhere, they needed the help with how slowly they were going.

"Failed? By the time I got there your friend would have been dead had you not been there lioness. I'm not allowed to lie to Kinu, so I intend to tell him that you're an idiot who risked your life for the sake of a monkey just because you considered him a friend. With any luck he'll kick you out for being so stupid" she said. She really would tell Kinu what Zaina had done, although she might not phrase it like that. She didn't like the lioness, but she had been brave and loyal. She deserved to have Kinu know that.

She ignored the thank you as well. No point in letting the kitten sacrifice her pride.

"I don't regret it." She said her voice sounding tired. "If... if he kicks me out for saving him, then I don't want to be there." She muttered bearing as much of her own weight as she could. "It's fine if you think I'm an idiot. But, wouldn't you do the same for your own friends?" She said softly.

She was getting so tired. Her body was almost numb at this point. "Hey." She said after another stretch of silence. "If.. I don't make it.... leave me. Get Javi some help. And..." She said obviously fading in an out a bit at that point. "Tell Hasani he's awesome... and um... let Javi know that he's fun and tell Kinu, I'm sorry, but I can't be of use anymore." Her eyes were blinking rapidly as she struggled to stay conscious. As a last resort she bit her lip hard. The mew source of pain giving her little mental clarity.

Sephiri almost gave a massive sigh of relief when she caught the scent of hyena on the air. Somebody had heard her. But sighing wouldn't help Zaina's mental state.

"Hey lioness, I kissed your Kinu the other day ~" she sang. That ought to keep her awake until help got here. Vitani. It was Vitani that was on her way. Good, she was strong and she'd be able to take Javi to Chi while she took Zaina to Amir. "Poor thing was injured and couldn't fight me off ~"

Vitani bounded up soon enough and without any verbal communication took Javi off of Seph's hands. They understood each other well and Seph gave the girl a nod. With that she took off with the monkey in the direction of Neutral. Chi would know who to call, he always did.

As soon as Javi was off of her hands she turned and scooped Zaina up. The lioness could put up as much resistance as she wanted, but the blood loss had made her too weak to break free. "Stay awake."

She kept her nose keen for the scent of the hyena and gave another bark. If she was lucky they were one of the older hyenas who knew when to answer a call, if not... she didn't know how much farther Zaina could walk like this, and Javi didn't look like he was going to be walking himself anytime soon. She was losing options quickly.
