Oh my gosh. This took me forever. I spent the whole weekend working on it. >_< But, I really like how it came out. It also took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for the background. I don't think I will do any more to this piece for a while (that is if I think of a better background or someone has some critique on it). I probably spent a good 30 hours on this.Katara copyright Nickelodeon

Looks good, like the gesturing. The head looks a bit crooked though. But your shading is very realistic. Well done.

This one: lots of time. >_< I have always had a problem with taking my time on a drawing (ADHD) but I managed to really pull it off this time. I am very happy about that. And thank you very much, I am glad you like it.

Yeah, it was fun. I used the sketch, I posted it as From the Ashes, as the test run for this pic. I practiced the strokes and all on that and got feedback on that one and applied it here. Sneaky aren't I?

Very good! I especially like the texture of her gown. It really looks like fabric. Also... like the border, colors, and just about everything.
I don't have any great ideas for a background, other than it should be muted or dark. Anything else might distract from the figure.

Much agreed and that distraction issue is what kept me from posting this over the weekend. I know that a piece can be destroyed or made by the background you give it.

Just one thing about the background, I think a neutral or Earth Kingdom themed background would suit the picture and the borders (sorry, I'm not the best at giving suggestions/critique

Ah, don't worry about it being the best at critiquing. I first had a beautiful cherry blossom tree in the back but with the light and dark on the tree really took away from her. I found that because of the lightness of her dress and everything, it was really hard to find a color. I will try messing around with the earth tones again but it may not work because of all of the earth tones on Katara. But thank you.

you might want to work on the head shape alot, it is oddly shaped and if you worked at it it could become easy for you. also, her hand is at an odd angle, it is bent to far down. but overall, great work the coloring is pretty nice.

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed the head thing when I was coloring, but I am not sure that there is anything I can do about that now. And hands >_<, my worse enemy. I use to be that person that would try to avoid drawing hands at all costs. Although, I used myself as a reference for the hand that that was the way (and tilt) that I hold fans. Hm.... maybe I am off too.
