i love how the plane looks like its flying above the image of the sea below with the wings edge peeking into the border. great stuff as usual.

thanks so very much dear lucy prior to making this, i was mesmerized by a book of optical illusions and patterns, and what started as a fun little experiment of lines, ended up into this

the plane's so phallical... but it's really an interesting piece... reminds me of some postcards from the yonder days of old

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ekster In reply to lurino [2006-10-10 07:15:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much man Hehehe yes, those old school propeller planes were definitely phallical. This aircraft is actually the Vickers Viking and I used a scale model blueprint for reference

csj143 [2006-10-09 16:56:34 +0000 UTC]

well done. my only criticism is that I think that if the text was on the darker part of the wave, it would be more legible.

great idea, though.

ekster In reply to csj143 [2006-10-10 07:16:16 +0000 UTC]

Many thanks my friend! I actually thought along the similar lines of your suggestion in the beginning, but somehow when the text was in the darker area, it broke the light/dark/light flow so I put it back to where it is now

csj143 In reply to ekster [2006-10-11 04:30:59 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that does make sense. With that in mind...I'd agree to leave it as is.

smooth and great bright colors. I think its "funny" to see how the plane is flying "ahead" and the waves of the ocean are going to the right..

Many thanks as always Janni Hehehe yeah, good catch there I think it's confirmed that the pilot of this plane is a little bit on the adventurous side, especially flying so close to the water and all that

Just vector yourself some tickets!
Just don't fly so close to the water! That's dangerous, especially when flying that slow!
Oooh burn!

Either that or they all just love living dangerously somehow
