Whew, got that done! I really like the working-from-grayscale technique, I think it turned out really well!
One more, and then I'm sending my portfolio out to see if I can get any work! Wish me luck!

Damn, that's a lucky roll! Haha, our group has a house rule that two 20s in a row is a max-damage critical, three 20s is an instakill. In twelve years of playing, we've only seen the latter twice. Once was by me on a nearly-dead lizardman. What a waste!

Nice! One time our crew accidentally got in the middle of a fight between one of these suckers and a remorhaz. It did not end well for our cleric, who tried to ride his shield down a snow-covered mountain, and ended up under the remorhaz right before its death throes went off.

Hell yeah. Not too long later we met our bard who had been getting high in a shack he built over a methane vent. He later got eaten by our half-orc fighter for trying to steal our airship.

I usually detest absurdly huge swords in fantasy, but this one is done so well that I actually really like it. It's also a fabulous composition, very dynamic.

Thanks man! Yeah, I usually dislike needlessly big swords, but he's actually the character I'm playing in Pathfinder. I use a feat that lets me use an oversized greatsword.
The composition came to me in a really vivid burst of inspiration while walking home from work. I started on this literally as soon as I got home!

hmm...that'd have to be the composition.
I really struggle with placement as far as making objects or figures look like they are definitively in the foreground or the background, and I think that you've handled that beautifully here!
I also love the detail that you put into your outfits, and I think you chose great colors.

I'm really glad this method worked out; I was kinda apprehensive at first. I don't know of any tutorials, really. I just kinda winged it. I used a couple color/soft light layers for each figure in this, and then the details layer over top.
