A doll to show that my base is actually doll-able
Actually, I started this before the base was finished and have been working on it for more than a month >_< I had big plans for this one, but it was one of those dolls that just don't work out as you want. So I gave up after weeks of tweaking, even though there are still so many mistakes. I'm just tired of this one.Anyway, it's supposed to be Tolkien's Luthien. It's the first time I've dared to doll her as I don't consider myself good enough to show her beauty. It's pretty much based on descriptions in the Silmarillion, Tolkien's heraldry (the design of the device at the top is his), a tara brooch and old fashion plates I found on a website.

I didn't have time to comment yesterday when I faved it but I need to tell you how very beautiful this is. The dress design, the colours, the shading, the shinyness of the fabric, the flow of the hair, everything is so well done and shows all the work you put in it. The same applies to the background and the frame with the heradlry, those things make the doll complete and would be gorgeous on their own as well.
I love to find things like this in my deviation inbox.
This doll makes me want to use your base but I already have two unfinished dolls lying around on my computer
I hope you don't mind my being nitpicky when you're so tired of the doll but there's one tiny little thing that looks off to me and it is in such a prominent spot too. It's the doll's left wrist which is a bit too thick/broad (I'm not sure what to call it) and it makes her arm look stumpy, especially in comparison to her gracile small feet.
But that's really the only thing that stops me from calling this a perfectly beautiful artwork, everything else looks divine

She is gorgeous, you did an outstanding job on her folds, I love the way you made the pattern on her dress. And her hair is pure genius.
