Description The South Seas Mandate was a Japanese territory that was established after World War I. Between 1943 and 1945, U.S. troops occupied the entire territory of the mandate. In 1947 the United Nations took the mandate away from Japan and created the Confederate Pacific Islands, administered by the United States.

Well, so much for the general description of the territory, as far as the flag is concerned it is a combination of the flag of Japan and the South Pacific Mandate's Governorate in the style of those flags of the French and British colonies.
