Description
Very simple and sketchy animation. It has been on my harddrive untouched for some time now but I kinda like it, so I might as well post it.There is a horrible lack of kiss-animations on dA, most are just profiles getting closer and if you're lucky you have a blinking eye. I wanted to make something that shows love, passion, longing and warmth. Bodies in motion.
I know it's rough and stacky, lacks frames here and there and I should feel embarrased to post something this unfinished, no need to point it out. I do appreciate feedback and criticism though! I have some trouble with the arms toward the end and overall pacing/speed.
Not sure if I'll ever finish this :/
Not sure about the characters either. I was thinking about some OCs - *Girl-In-Disorder will know - or maybe Irosami or Tahnorra... hmmm...
All work done in Pencil (the free animation-program) by me. I used a ref for one frame, all the other frames are drawn without ref - as you can see on the failingly changing bodyshapes

Well, you could just download the gif and convert it or you use this .psd-version I have on my sta.sh: sta.sh/0a2i8o1q0w2 Every layer is a frame.

Ugh I honestly don't remember, something in my memory shouts 97 but I think it's less than that, the frames in the beginning are practically all the same. So something about 70-80 maybe? XD

I /really/ love this animation! For something done on Pencil, this is ridiculously good O.o This. On Pencil. How do you even...
It may be rough and stacky, but for something done on PENCIL out of all things, this is wonderful. I love how they both look so uncertain or awkward at the beginning, only to show affection and warmth. It's a really great piece you've done here, I really love it!

Pencil is my choice of program when I rough-sketch animations. ItΒ΄s very simple but for me thatΒ΄s actually the strength of the program. Whenever I use Flash I get so distracted with all the options, settigs and tools on the interface, depending on your screen the canvas in Flash is really small too. ItΒ΄s a fantastic program but during the creative stage it can be overwhelming. In Pencil you have a practically endless canvas and just the basic tools to lay down your ideas and test some things out. I havenΒ΄t found a program with a similar good workflow yet. If only it wouldnΒ΄t crash all the time! ItΒ΄s a love-hate-relationship.
When youΒ΄re animating itΒ΄s not the program that matters. IΒ΄ve seen awesome animations made with Easytoon, GIMP or even or pen on paper. ItΒ΄s a matter of how much work and time youΒ΄re willing to spend on the animation and how many "mistakes" and shortcuts you allow yourself.

I see what you mean xD But I guess the reason I hate pencil is the sheer fact that somehow it doesn't save properly for me. I can never save it in a way that I can re-work on it. And also it crashes a lot xD So yeah. I don't like Pencil all that much. But hey, whatever works ~ Pencil is a very simple program that I find anyone can just pick up and use, unlike Flash that has way too many options. xD

That's really frustrating! I had it corrupt a file once, all the other times the saving was fine, I had no problems. It just randomly crashes on me but apparently Flash has the same problem, although not as bad

Pick the layers you like to play around XD Beware, it's ultra-sketchy and looks horrible without movement and animation.

naaaaah, it's fine! i like how you can see the hesitation and the confusion at the beginning and then the loosen up a bit and you can clearly see the passion and warmth in it. and truth be told, i mostly like sketchy stuff so great job elbs
