As for this comic…
I came up with the final draft of Daphne’s concluding lines in this comic exactly five minutes before posting. Sometimes it’s like that. If you can believe it, previous drafts featured two different Sonic the Hedgehog jokes. I bailed on them because I thought they were a little too esoteric. If one can apply the word ‘esoteric’ to a blue hedgehog. Because it feels wrong to use that word in that way.

Not far off. A helicopter parent is one that constantly hovers over her kids and never lets them out of her sight. It's the new style of parenting that's in vogue right now.

Good lord, that sounds as bad as those parents who walk around with their kid on a leash. I mean, if your kid has a habit of running off constantly sure (though there's probably better ways to deal with that), but if the kid is pretty well behaved, why? Kids need freedom to run around and be kids, dangit!
