Description
i felt something being washed away under the rain.

looking down, i see a multitude of shades.
shades of green, blue, purple,
even pink, as it dances down the road.
they flow, together but apart,
hitting bends and running into blocks.

i blinked away the clear droplets forming on my lashes.

looking down, i see a plethora of monochrome.
blinking fearfully, i look again.
oh, i was b l a c k & w h i t e, alright.
my colours have all left me.
now, why would they do that?

i began a hysterical wild goose chase.

following the stream of colour,
past bends, past blocks,
till they collected in a dent.
bending down, i attempted,
to pour my colours back into my colourless veins.

it didn't seem to go very well though.

purple piped up; red responded.
green grimaced, and pink frowned.
they swirled. and swirled.
painted me a picture.
of a paper plane.

the weight of a paper plane suddenly appeared in my pocket.

pulling out the soggy piece of paper,
still folded perfectly, were the words; "i love you"
written in your pretty handwriting.
you painted it with all the colours in the rainbow,
and gave it to me, saying; "we've got each other."

i stare at the now monochromatic paper plane, looking so frail.

purple blinks up at me again.
i look from the plane to purple, and back again.
pushing the tip of the paper plane into the colours,
multi-coloured strands pulled it away from me.
and they left, leaving me in my black and white world.

and i'd paint my paper planes pink, my heart red, and my puddles blue,
but your world would always be more colourful than mine.
so maybe my world would be as good as yours.
