hi! i'm not really dedicated at all so i color using filters (AP7), i don't have patience with blending colors, ahihi! btw, how does the boring sun give the mystery feeling to the character? anyway, thank you very much, i'm really honored!

thank you! there are many available "Renaissance Angel Paintings and Sculptures" across the web that helped me design this seraphim too. i hope it will help you as well. a standard angel would be with medium length hair that is either curly or wavy, caucasian features (hey i'm not being racist, i'm an asian), asymmetrical long robe with heavy folds and drapes, number of wings depend on the hierarchy of the angel, halo, and add miscellaneous elements such as sword, star, sun, clouds, butterflies, armor. i hope this will help you! the hard part really is the robe if you want your angel to have that classic look! good luck and happy drawing!

Yeah lol! Thanks a lot! A lot of these elements to classify my character, though not all. It is the robe and the ...armor/weapony thats the hardest for me. The other aspects aren't hard hehe! Oh yeah, color scheme too. hmm.... That is a good idea! To look at paintings and sculptures from the renaissance.

of all the angel references i've seen, the most common angel who wears an armor is Saint Michael The Archangel. so if you want your seraphim to be reminiscent of Michael, i think he's a good reference.

you can use this artwork for the robe. i still don't understand fully the dynamics of angel robes. but i've drawn the folds and drapes here in the most simplified way possible but still showing the details. (if this is any help to you, hehe)

about the sword, the standard angel sword is the same as a knight sword. but the one who requested this art specified the sword to be long like Cloud's buster sword (although it's nowhere near Final Fantasy's broad swords)

for the color scheme, anatomy is caucasian colors. the costume is mostly light neutral colors. for the accessories, use the yellow and gold family.

Well hehe, my angel is the seraph Raziel. He's the keeper to the secrets of God. Though he does borrow his brother Michael's name when he hides among the humans to serve as a guiding light ^^

I'm making my seraphim a slight deviant from the caucasian. He has white hair but he has a tanner complexion. I will use fire as his element, inspired by many references in the bible. Your sword looks very interesting. I don't really care for a knightly style of brute size and power. I'm looking for something more elegant ^^

I definitely need to experiment with robes and such, but i will keep it light-colored. Heehee!

about my coloring, thanks again! the technique i use in selecting colors is to emphasize contrast between them. though it's my habit to always choose the more painfully bright colors. ahihi

yeah, but it makes them so much easier to see and figure out! Otherwise its lines everywhere and it gets so muttled and confusing and HEY i think you're pretty damn good if you ask me!!
