Raise your hand (fellow Americans, that is) if you had played the English patched Phantasia on an emulator way before Symphonia came out, and totally fangasm'd at all the references and redone music in Symphonia when it WAS released.
Just when you thought Eternia had revolutionized 'Tales', here comes Symphonia!

Though Dhaos is pretty generic in that he's, as said, a floating, long-haired blond guy. The boss of the game after was the same too... and thus Tales repeated that many many times.

Oh, now I see. I've made a mistake. You see, I've played the original SNes translation (and beaten it) 10 years ago and barely remember anything at all (except I hated Mint, still hate her at ToW:RM for the PSP (aka: TALES OF KINGDOM HEARTS)). Gotta play it again. And then the final boss of Tales of Symphonia (GC) is exactly the same, called Mythos. One of the games' forest, the one populated with elves, is much like a forest from ToP. You should check it
Nah, the Wii one. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World or Tales of Symphonia 2: Knight of Ratatosk in Japan. There's this whinny character, Emil, who goes batshit-crazy berserker every time he sees Lloyd because he supposedly killed his parents! o: Talk about weird. By the end of the game Lloyd even talk about Mythos.

Far too many Tales, but not as many Final Fantasys (they were supposed to be the swan song of a bankrupt company ya know!) and not as nearly as much Lufia, Phantasy Star or Shadow Hearts as it would have ):

Not really. Even PS got a bazillion games, those are 'grouped' withing themselves. Phantasy Star I-IV, then the Phantasy Star Onlines and Phantasy Star Universe/AotI/Portable/Portable 2... And not a single one explaining anything (PSZero really don't explains a thing)
