Sauzer and Palpaleos from Bahamut Lagoon, the second or third RPG I played as a kid, and probably one of my top 5 favorite games.I found the childhood friend dynamic between the two nice and humanizing, during the time Sauzer was assumed to be an evil bastard.
But seriously, FUCK PALPALEOS FOR STEALING YOYO/JOJO FROM YOU. What an angering plot twist.
...Which is one of the reasons the game is so great. No one wants to see that, just like no one wants to see Aeris/Aerith die, it's the perfect trick to making a story memorable.
Oh yeah, and the game had awesome music, can't forget that.

This is an high quality anime made game: great story, great atmosphere, great music, great everything. Is Sauzer supposed to be that young? I thought he was 50s years old.

Nah, Sauzer isn't young, the picture is just crappy.
It's the only RPG I consistently REMEMBER because of its story. It was uncomfortable enough and had moments you didn't want to happen, to be memorable. Unlike an RPG that only has a happy ending where you save the world.
There are games that are far better than Bahamut Lagoon that I just don't remember anything about.

Umh yeah I agree in everything, even in the fact that Casablanca needs more Ex-death. About B.L. well... I think that it would be a best seller if it would be developed again with HD graphic, 2D active HD sprites, rearranged AND original music inside, cutsscene, professional voice acting, tweaked mechanic - Phoenix is cool, but it unbalance the tactical aspect of the game - many many new subquest, many minigames and much other good developers conceive about.
I think that B.L. would be a fantastic anime nowdays - fun fact: there is "Black Lagoon" that is not what you could think about. It's just a quite averagely good anime about shooting and killing and mafia...

At least Sendak has feet. It really is baffling that the sprites were animated so well, and looked better than any Final Fantasy sprites that were on the SNES, when the character art looked like THAT.

That's the thing that really threw me off about front mission, the fact the guy known for Final FANTASY! and he comes around and does the character designs for a sci-fi war game.

It's an amazing show. Half of it is about the main character being a martial artist and fighting dudes himself. Wut. And there's a Neo-America gundam that's red white and blue with boxing gloves, and a Neo-Holland or something gundam at one point that is a giant windmill.
I can't remember the rest...
Oh yeah, the Neo-Mexico one is giant sombrero gundam.
