Okayyy, so I'm totally not even sure if this is even finished - I don't think it is to be honest - but I thought I'd see what you guys thought of it
I'm currently doing a project on well... Fairies so..watch out
So now, lotsa people to credit

Great manipulation allthough I think that if you had given the figure itself a bit more warmer tones (more matching to the background and the lightfall therein) it would have been near perfection.

one little remark: the women it kinda blue-ish, while the bg is very warm.. But that would be the whole point, ofcourse, I dunno 
It's just, when I'm manipulating, I try to reduce the colours

I agree about the eye to be honest - I just thought, I can't do a fairy with her eyes closed - where's the magic in that!?!

I think the eye looks odd because it stand out too much. The rest of the picture is very subtle and the eye just distracts from that a little too much.
Ill be honest im on a BA course at Wolverhampton in my second year and most of the people in my class would strugle to create an image like this one. Really nice work.

Lovely piece, pretty stock and you have created a great magical atmosphere. I love the work on the wings, you have done well with the opacity there to blend them into their environment. Some things that are not so right I think is the overall composition, I think there should be far more above the models head...its just a bit too close. There are issues with the lighting, it seems to be coming from in front of her, yet she is fully lit from affront, adding shadows in the right place will instantly merge her better into her surroundings and make a more believable image.

I think everything =hyenacub said would make this look almost perfect. I just find a minor problem with her right wrist being far too skinny as compared to her left one. It almost looks like part of the dress was removed right there or something. It just looks slightly awkward under close inspection. But in general, it looks great. You've done a really good job

Of course! Yes, that little bit of dress adds a lot. It makes the wrist less awkward because now it's hidden behind it a little. Looks much better Harlz
If you feel like it, you could try making her wrist thicker using the liquify tool in photoshop, like they do to make models skinnier

Haha ya, I remember some of your early work, I think still have all the ones you did of me or me and dan saved onto a disc somewhere. Not saying those were bad, but there definitely has been an awesome progression. Mine haven't progressed as much, because I'm more into the photography, but I definitly use waaaaaaaay less cracks and blood splatter brushes these days hahaha.

You have melded thigns nicely in this shot...kudos for that! I like ther "stained glass" sort of offect.
One major thing...the lighting doesn't match. Your fairy has all cool lighting, and the shadows don't mix right, and you've got this warm background with golden light. I might suggest splashing a light layer of yellow onto the fairy, and using a very light yellow to put some highlights on the right side. Gold light, and some deep purple shadows.
Also, the direction of the lighting on the fairiy seems off, too. You've got some kind of major light source coming from the left on the figure, but it's mostly on the right in the background. you might want to flip her around...light on the right, shadows on the left.

really awesome concept. you should try messing with the levels on the fairy so that they match the background. or maybe make the lighting in the background cooler to give it a more surreal effect. it would also make the pale skin more believable.
just a thought though. i would also suggest blurring the edges of the objects you cut out to put in the composite. but only a tad bit to make it natural.
sorry if i sounded a tad bit harsh. then again, i havent done any composites in a long time... :\

Although... I'm not sure, but perhaps if you changed the colours on the fairy so that they look a bit 'warmer', then she might fit in slightly more with the bright, sunny background?
But overall, I really like this- good work!
