Description Some sketches of *pallanoph 's beautiful Neng and another, random Pallanoph and some of my Qualats as well. I've always wanted to draw Neng, but didn't dare to until now. One day I'll do a proper fanart, I swear.
I'm not sure if it's visible, but Neng's in a slightly aggressive mood and if the overly curious Qualat doesn't disappear soon he very well might make him. I actually think he's quite nice to allow him at such a short distance at all. Please correct me, *pallanoph , if I'm talking nonsense!

The sketches below were just for fun, or, in the Pallanoph's case, to see if I got any better at drawing them. The colored Qualat was done with *CyprinusFox 's Prismacolors, which was my very first experience with them. I usually don't overly like using colored pencils, but some high quality ones may be a nice change once in a time.
The Qualat on the right shows his playing face, and also may be the first step to create different types of the species. This one would be living in areas with colder climates, having longer fur and slightly cooler/ lighter color schemes. Ealann will be of this type, and Chrome as well, a female character which I didn't upload anything of yet (I think).
That just leaves the paw at the top. With this, I think I made up my mind about the Qualat's front paws now.

Eeeehee, they're all adorable! Though I imagine Neng to be more of the nervous sort: He's curious, but not always likely to welcome outside contact unless he can be sure the outsider means no harm. Qualats don't seem aggressive enough for him to get too worried. Other 'nophs are a little less tolerant of outsiders, of course. (They need to lighten up a bit. )

Love the play-faced Qualat. So charming! And if you ever felt colored pencils to suit you for any project (though they aren't for everyone's taste) I highly recommend Derwents and Caran 'd Ache. They feel softer and yet more precise in my opinion. I do love the nice subtle color study here: I like how it feels defined and distinguishable, as well as very naturalistic. And of course, I still love their ears and forepaws/hands.

Ah, I see! In this case the Qualat would be the more cautious one. Well, at least I got the tolerance part right.

Thanks so much for the nice words and the tip as well! Colored pencils tend to be harder on my arms than paint, so I don't think we'll be very close friends anytime soon, but I'll keep it in mind!

Thanks! I really should sketch more often. Some internet time should be converted to sketching time, that would probably help.
