Description
Oh, there's a little cursing. This is the Corporal we're talking about.
Seated at a table for two, Levi observed as [F/n] surveyed the first-class cafe; famous for being frequently visited by personalities. Her eyes trailed from corner to corner only to conceal themselves again, behind the menu in her tight grip.
"What would you like to have, Mr. Ackerman?" a waitress inquired, a notebook in one hand and a pen in the other.
Putting down the menu, Levi answered in his usual dull tone, "Black tea and this br- lady here will have vanilla tea."
[F/n] flinched when he referred to her, [e/c] orbs widened in surprise as they looked up from the menu to meet his dark hues.
"I'll be back shortly with your orders." The waitress bowed before leaving the table of two.
The mood around the pair was heavy and it was silent. Of course it'll be. Levi Ackerman; the famous CEO of the Ackerman company and also [F/n]'s employer, had asked or more exactly, ordered her to have tea with him.
Levi was stunned when he saw [F/n] entered his company building for a job interview, dressed smartly and her [h/c] tresses was let down. He couldn't believe his eyes that he had finally found her. Or she found him first, whichever it is.
Of course, he immediately told Petra to approve [F/n]'s job application. He's not that dumb. He's given another chance and hell, he's not going to lose her again.
But, he was dejected when he later found out that the woman he once loved and still loves does not remember a single thing of their past.
Though the disappointment was masked perfectly well behind his apathetic look, Levi locked himself in him office until he finally decided to come up to her desk, commanding her to get ready to leave with him.
Staring at the busy streets, the ebony-haired male watched the people walked by the cafe until he felt a gaze on him. Turning to her, he snapped at her, irritably, "What?"
"H-how did you know I was going to order vanilla tea, ermm...sir?" she stuttered, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her blouse as she shuffled uncomfortably in her seat.
"Tch."
"Here, heichou."
Levi glanced up from the paperwork he hated very much and was greeted by the gentle smile of cadet [L/n]. She placed his cup of tea on his desk, carefully avoiding the paper he was working on.
There was a waft of strong yet, soothingly sweet scent from the warm beverage as the saucer landed with a soft 'clink' on the smooth wooden surface.
Somehow the fragrance reminded him of the female soldier standing in front of him.
He brought the porcelain cup up to his chapped lips and took a sip, relaxing as the warm liquid went down his throat.
"How is it?" she asked anxiously, waiting patiently for his reply but, she was responded with silence as he inspected the steaming tea.
The [h/c] girl's expression lit up and once again, a smile graced her features when he finally decided to take another sip.
"What did you added into the tea, brat?" he questioned as he observed [F/n] began cupping her own cup of tea in both of her small hands and blowing on it. He wasn't angry at her but, it was his way of talking and [F/n] understood.
She looked up at him, still wearing the small smile, "Is it not to your liking?" Her [e/c] orbs gazed into his.
"Did you just answer my question with another question?" His tone changed to that of threatening, which did not seemed to affect her, much to his irritation.
"Yes, I just did. So, how is it?"
Heaving a deep sigh, he answered, "It's smells disgustingly sweet but, it tasted okay." She only shook her head, chuckling at his response. "So, what the heck did you add?"
"Vanilla."
"What the heck is a vanilla? What the f***, [F/n]...Don't tell me that's a drug!!" he began ranting on and on about how he had tons of paper waiting to be signed. The raven-haired male had even threw in strings of curses meant for the commander.
Rolling her [e/c] eyes, she exclaimed, "No, it is not a drug, Levi. Why would you even think vanilla is a freaking drug?"
Heaving a deep sigh, [F/n] continued, "Vanilla is somewhat like a flavouring. I've gotten some vanilla pods for a reasonable price during my recent visit to the town. So, I took the liberty of adding it into our tea. Judging from your look, I guess it was worth it."
Giving her a satisfied nod at her clarification, the Corporal went back to working on the stack of paperwork, though occasionally he did grumble and mumble incoherently. Time to time, he would looked at the [h/c] girl from the corner of his grey orbs.
Watching [F/n] continued sipping on her vanilla tea, enjoying the noiseless yet, peaceful atmosphere of his office; nothing but, the sound of quill scrapping on parchments, had created a warm feeling in his heart.
He couldn't explain that feeling and neither would he ask the female cadet, who was seated comfortably in the opposite seat. Deep inside, he knew that he wanted this emotion of bliss to last forever and he wouldn't deny it.
"Time to go back to helping our busy Erwin!" [F/n] stated, standing up from the chair and stretched her arms.
Muttering a few curses here and there, he ran his fingers through his black locks, "And, why are you helping eyebrows instead of helping me?"
"Becauseeee, heichouuuuu," she answered in a teasing manner and poked him on the nose, causing him to glare at her, "He had asked me before you did!! Don't worry though, Levi. I'll be back before you know it."
[F/n] leaned in to give him a peck on the lips, leaving a light tinge of vanilla.
He watched as her slender figure left his spotlessly clean office with the two empty cups in her hands. When she was gone, his lips curved upwards into a smile as he replayed the scene of what had just happened, in his mind.
How he wished he could spend more time with the [h/c] female just like this. But, no. Life just had to be a f****** cruel dipshit, taking away that one person whom he loves more than anything, from him.
How he wished she would always be there with him in his office, watching him work and enjoying her own tea. Always gracing him with that angelic smile of hers.
How he wished he could taste the tea she made again. He wasn't able to recreate her signature 'disgustingly sweet, yet okay' vanilla tea, despite the fact that he could remember how it had tasted like.
He should have gotten [F/n] to write the damn recipe down.
But, as much as the he missed the fragrance of vanilla in his tea, he missed [F/n]'s presence so much more.
"Sir? A-are you alright?" [F/n] waved a hand in the face of her boss. When she had successfully acquired his attention, she quickly retracted her hand in fear that she might offend him.
Silver eyes piercing into her [e/c] ones, he muttered, "Levi."
"P-pardon?" she stared back, with a dumbfounded expression.
"Tch. Call me Levi from now on, brat," he spoke while resting his chin on a knuckle. "But, only when it's the two of us."
[E/c] hues widened and she tried find a right answer, stammering in the progress, "E-eh? I don't -"
"That's an order," his stoic gaze on her softened as he watched her actions, the way she stumbled on her words reminded him of the very first time [F/n] had spoke to him as a soldier.
Looking down at her thighs, the female nodded and mumbled, "O-okay, Levi..."
Unbeknownst to her, the thin line of his lips was replaced with a loving smile.
It doesn't matter if you don't remember our past. As long as you're by my side right now, it's more than enough.
"From now on, you'll be making my tea."
"B-but, sir! I mean, Levi. Eren told me you only drink the tea Petra makes."
"From now on, you'll be the one making my tea. I don't want the usual black tea. I'm sick of it. Instead, I want vanilla-flavoured tea. I know you know how to make that damn tea. So, don't even think of saying no, " he repeated, clearly ignoring her previous statement.
She tilted her head to the side, [h/c] locks flowing to the side and confusion written all over her features, "That's not a problem...But, why though, Levi...?"
"The only person who's vanilla tea does not suck is yours, [F/n] [L/n]," he stated, his monotone voice becoming a whisper as he continued, "I miss the scent of vanilla tea you once made for me."
And, the taste of vanilla on your lips.
