Nevada is improving so much! You're doing a wonderful job with her, look forward to seeing more from the both of you!
I'm having a similar problem with the heat, but I prefer to ride bareback anyways <:

Aww, I don't personally ride horses, but yesterday we played horse soccer and it was pretty fun~
I also have a question, i'm partnered with a large gelding and I have spurs but the only boots I can wear have a heel problem, so its hard to get him to Lope do you have any tips for me? If so that'd be great! <3

I did some reading and apparently the lope is very similar to the canter. I've always rode English, so that's what I'm familiar with. I haven't cantered on Nevada yet, and I honestly haven't at all for quite some time. I am teaching Nevada how to canter though. I know that if Nevada isn't doing anything no matter how hard I squeeze her sides, I bring out my "popper"

If you look at this picture and see the rope that is braided in a way on the right, that's the "popper". If Nevada isn't moving, I take that, swing it once over my right shoulder, once over my left, then down onto her right shoulder, then down onto her left. If she hasn't moved by the time it reaches her, I continue popping her harder until she does move. But she has found out that the popper isn't fun soooo, she doesn't misbehave much. If anything, she wants to canter, but I hold her back because we're not ready. XD
Not sure what else I can offer to help you. :I I hope this helps a little bit. It depends on the horse. Maybe you just need to be firmer with him, or give him a "phase four" if you will. Remember to give friendly after "phase four" with whatever you used to do it so the horse isn't scared of it. But only do the friendly/reward AFTER they've done the right thing.
