Description Work is slowly progressing on Castalynn's timeline post the High Angel Lucerian's destruction of the ancient civilization of Acsyea (resulting in his expulsion from heaven).  My original timeline was fraught with math problems, so I've been starting again from scratch with only minor adjustments here and there to make sure that character ages worked with the timeline.  Here's a few benchmarks I used to keep things reasonably in order:

1.  It took Europe ~200 years for the population to recover following the Black Death.
I wanted to treat the fall of the Acsyean Empire as a significant catastrophe in the history of the world.  At the time it was the cradle of civilization, being the first human kingdom and a global trading hub.  It's sudden annihilation catapulted the world of men into chaos.  Nothing in the world of men went unaffected.  Given the scale of both calamities, I decided it was a fair comparison.

2. Population growth in the Empire
I'm not going to bore you with the statistics, but to gain a rough estimate of how long it takes for a newly formed nation to become (what I would consider to be) established (over 1 million people), I looked at three key events in the history of the United States:

1. ~104 people established Jamestown (1607)
2. ~2,000 people in the 13 colonies (1625)
3. ~2.4 Million people in the 13 colonies (1775, Official US Census)

Granted, most of that is due to immigration, but that's exactly what happened with the Empire so it was a near perfect benchmark.  Thus, while I did not use those exact numbers (as I recall), it gave me a very good idea of how fast a population can grow.

Next to the timeline you'll see the other "tool" that I used to double check the changes in year by being able to constantly reference the ages of key characters.

It's still a work in progress, and it's missing several minor events (character specific) and almost everything that has been occurring on the mainland (Which I've largely been ignoring for now), but as far as I'm concerned it's looking pretty good for now.
