Description My entry for 's Young Design Challenge 1- Monotone Sky

The challenge: draw a monochromatic floorlength evening gown with straps or shoulder coverings for the opening gala of a new observatory.

The gown is a floor length sheath of ombre velvet, Black at the bottom fading to charcoal gray at top, with a drape of medium gray chiffon woven with silver threads which forms a strap over one shoulder and a sweep train in the back. The other shoulder has black crystal and silver beaded straps with fringe details.

Just read the critique. Whew, it passed!

WHERE TO START! Definitely one of my absolute favorites I've seen. It's got a classic, almost Greek beauty to it, and the shoulder detail is absolutely STUNNING. I am at a loss for words when it comes to describing this dress. PASS PASS PASS!

When I'll properly grow up (meaning I'll have a job, and money ) I'll have a taylor and I will order this dress if you give me (sell me?) the rights to do so. Wow, really lovely design, this is exactly in my style.

You just go into the jargon spiel of which I do not understand, nor can imagine X_X but it looks AWESOME.

Lol, it's because I've grown up around it. When I was a baby my Mom would sew with me sitting on her lap,and I started sewing myself when I was 8yrs...and thus an obsession was born.

She'll sew occasionally but mostly just buys more fabric to add to her "I'll make this up some day..." stash. There's a saying in the sewing world that goes "She who dies with the biggest stash wins." O.o I think my mom is aiming for the gold.

Well its completely true X3 I perform all the time and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find tasteful gown designs out there. Yours is just stunning! Great work!
