I must say, I really like the effect that brownie made! I've always wanted to get a brownie for that reason but never know which to get @-@

this brownie is the 'brownie starflash' but the 'holiday flash brownie' is gorgeousss too i found all of my vintage cameras on etsy or ebay. and to be honest, i totally added the bokehs in after as an effect *shhh* i actually haven't tried taking pictures with the brownie bc the film is hard to find and kind of expensive, so really i just wanted a picture with it because it's so cute! i didn't like how messy all the bookshelves looked, so i thought i would distract with the bokehs and it ended up making the photo 100 x's more interesting.

I've been looking at getting my first toy camera/brownie, I was hoping the film wouldn't be expensive and difficult to find X3; I take about 20-40 shots per subject, so I'm a horrible person to use film. Hopefully I can restrain myself when I get a film heheh. And the bokeh does look wonderful in this (so many people use it and make the photo garish), but I think the bookshelves aren't distracting at all! I quite love all the things on them and how all the colors seem to work together

i am the same way, and love to over do it when i take pics. that is another reason i haven't tried to use film, though i am sure it would be fun to see how they turn out! film just is not as common these days so it's more expensive. a friend of mine created his own black room and said the paper was really hard to find. but idk i have no experience with film so i'm not one to really say one thing or another! thank you for the compliment! you should definitely do some internet stalking for a beautiful little vintage camera! most aren't expensive at all! but watch out you may get addicted like me and i know what you mean about some added textures just not working. sometimes i try and it just doesn't come out. i don't normally add textures to my photos but sometimes i do for a little extra oomph if i feel like it works.

I always end up trying to add texture, but I have never made it successful lol. A fun thing to do for bokeh is to take some seran wrap, punch a hole in it for the lens, and then crinkle it up. You hold it right up against the lens to create some wonderful natural bokeh! I did one photo with it but alas my old PC crashed and I only have a thumbnail left: [link]
I actually spent all yesterday evening looking for a good camera Some of that time was spent on film and I couldn't find any 110 or 127mm! My dad has a SUPER nice film from the 70s with tons of amazing lens. I think now I'd prefer to try and fix that one up! And then collect vintage cameras as a super fun hobby later ;D

oh my gosh i am going to have to try that, i love the softness that it creates. great idea! i've made my own bokeh shapes with cutting construction paper to the size of my lens but i never even considered that idea. very neat! thanks for sharing!! yeah i just collect the cameras, and don't try to use them to take photos with for that reason. but they sure look pretty! and its neat to know what other people use to use!
