On a side note, I'm adding some content to Izlude's time in the tavern. I have him  do some chatting with his fellow applicants for the job with the Consortium. I thought it might make sense for Izlude to gather info on the job, since it sounds too good to be true, and for him to make some new friends to go with his new identity. I'm still ironing it out, but I think I've got a solid concept going.

I see. I'm still brainstorming the next chapter. Like his fellow applicants in the tavern, Izlude does not find out the real reason for the job's generous pay until he arrives. This anime clip gave me an idea for Izlude's exorcism scene in the mines of Golland: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CZqNw…

My idea for the ghosts was for an epidemic to have swept the underground during the Lion War and the thieves that succumbed to it refused to let go of their loot, even in death so its up to Izlude to put them to rest so he can make his fortune and allow the mining company to get back on track.

I just realized I'd forgotten to ask you about something. You know how Izlude says that "his grandparents" came from Romanda? Was there any particular reason yoy changed that for them to come before Romanda withdrew, rather than after?

Oh, I was thinking it was a grammar error. Would it have been possible for people from Romanda to immigrant to Ivalice after the country withdrew from the war? I would think that once that happened, the borders would be closed and that would be impossible so I changed it to 'before' Romanda withdrew so the borders to Ivalice would have still been opened to immigrants.

Maybe "withdrew" should be replaced with "entered", then?

Would it really make any difference? 'Damien's' grandparents could have passed the Ivalice border just before they closed and Romada withdrew from the war.

Thanx. And to answer your question, I'm going to spend the weekend in LA with my new boyfriend ^^. I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones

How come I never replied to this? Well, my Thanksgiving was great. And, so was Christmas. I'm not sure if I told you this already, but I took a bigger hand than normal in getting gifts for the folks. I spent quite a bit more than a meant to, but I nailed it. How about you? Did you get some gems for the folks?

Yah. I got a designer handbag for my mom, a Ralph Lauren robe for my brother, and some shoes for my bf and other nick nacks for my karate classmates.

Coolness. I got a set of citrus bath lotion and fine perfume for my mom, The Brother's Karamazov and an iTunes gift card for my dad, a Sephora gift card and The Mary Kay Way: Timeless Principles from America's Greatest Woman Entrepreneur for my younger sister, a Lush gift card and an Amazon gift card for my youngest sister, The Godelian Puzzle Book: Puzzles, Paradoxes and Proofs for my uncle, and Cast of Characters: Wolcott Gibbs, E.B. White, James Thurber, and the Golden Age of the New Yorker for my grandma. In case you're wondering, yes, I went well an truly over budget with all that, but I wanted to step up to the proverbial plate since, usually, I'm left getting gift cards and wild guesses for my folks. Unlike sensible people, such as myself, they don't decide on what gifts they want months in advance and start disseminating their wish lists before Thanksgiving. What about you? Do you have anyone who's hard to shop for? Someone who can't decide what they want or profess that you don't have to get them anything, even though you really want to?

Yah. My brother. I do know what he wants but I can't afford to get him an Acura NSX so he'll have to settle for a nice, warm Ralph Lauren bathrobe to keep him warm lol. But if I did win that huge Powerball Lotto jackpot, I would get him that car. I hear the jackpot is almost 1 billion. You should buy a ticket!

That IS something. Though, I hear tell you've got a better chance of being abducted by aliens than winning the lotto. And, for those who do win, I shudder to think of the taxes involved.

If I win, I don't have to work anymore but I'll still have time for my favorite hobbies

While I would like having a LOT of rainy day money, I wonder if I'd go stir-crazy from permanent vacation-esque living. Well, on a completely different note, my computer has gone in for a possible back-up and format. Whatever got into it was powerful and invasive. Still, I have been mulling over ideas for FMWBT for when it comes back, and some might be promising. I'll keep you posted, and catch you later.

My mom is the kind of person who believes in fate; she used to tell me that if you are meant to win the lotto, you only need one ticket and if you're not, you won't win even if you buy a thousand tickets. I'm mulling over ideas for future chapters too; I hope it won't come into conflict with what you have since its hard for me to continue without seeing what you have but I can still take notes

I still wonder if I'm the sort who'd just end up going stir crazy if I won a set-for-life amount of money and stopped working. Still, if you won, I wouldn't begrudge you for a moment. I am not certain if thinking ahead on chapters would be much of a problem, since I've only one idea for new, minor O.C's, as well as a possible expansion to the story of the scared miner. Anyhow, I'll send notes as needed, and you can revise your ideas based on what ideas of mine pass muster. With regard to your other message, knights ARE likely to be needed in peacetime for the purpose of defending the king and fighting such domestic threats as bandits and monsters. And, that's discounting the possibility that the peace might prove brief. So, I think it does make sense for Alma to be worried about her child choosing to follow in Izlude's footsteps. And, yeah, it makes sense for her to consider teaching her child the healing arts herself. Good idea.

Yes, you're right about that. Like every country in real life needs a military even in times of peace but not nearly as much as in times of war. Perhaps it would make sense for a minority of knights to stay on active duty while others stay on reserve in case they are needed again. But Alma's child isn't even born yet so she shouldn't worry too much about it for the moment. As for the lotto, I spend about $5 a week on tickets, one for the super, mega, fantasy five, and powerball which is ok. Some people may spend $40 a week on the Lotto which I think is a lot. I really believe that if I'm meant to win, I will with just one ticket and if I'm not, it won't matter how many tickets I buy. I don't think gambling is a bad thing as long as you're responsible with it. Years ago my brother went on a trip to Vegas with his friends and lost about $600 and made me promise not to tell our mom. He did win back $400 but its still a $200 loss. However, that's not as bad as how much others have lost.
