Description (2017), 15" x 6" x 5", stained glass (blue opal, white opal, blue, purple), glass lenses, copper foil, lead solder, chains and rings

Companion piece to the "Fuego!" and "Agua" lanterns I made before. This one features blue, purple and white and pale blue opal glass and three etched glass lenses showing the air signs of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The three panels are connected to form a triangle with a transparent triangular glass panel suspended between them to support a candle.

I fixed chains to each of the tops of the panels so the lantern can be hung from a hook.

Gorgeous pieces!  I like the shape of "Fire" most, but re:colours it would have to be "Air"

Thank you! Air's a pretty light piece with opalescent whites and blues and a little bit of darker blue and purple for contrast.

If Aquarius is the water bearer... then why is her symbol an air one??

It's the one confusing thing about this sign. Even though it has water in the name it belongs to the air triplicity together with Gemini and Libra.

The actual water signs are Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio (which is also confusing, because scorpions are really desert animals...)

Thank you! It's one of those pieces where I tossed away one design after another until I was finally happy. But I think it was worth it in the end.

Lovely work. A companion shot lighted only by the candles would be pretty.
