Thank you so much! Fire really is my element and I love the beautiful pieces of artwork you found that feature it.

I'd be terrified of hanging this outside, it's so lovely!Β I love the fluidity you were able to achieve in a difficult medium (I never did stained glass, but many a classmate lost bits of their fingers to it).Β The bright silver leading and the purple flames really make the warmer tones pop and give the lantern further dimension.Β The etchings are almost lost in all the flames and are a pleasant surprise when one's eyes finally finds them!

Thank you! It will be under a cloth-covered gazebo, so hopefully that will keep the worst off it, though the biggest killer of stained glass lanterns is actually freezing water. I had a whole crop of little tea-light lanterns that busted one winter when they got filled with rain water that then froze (and expanded, DUH!). Ever since then I leave a little hole when I solder the pieces together so everything can drain...
The flame design itself started as a doodle, which doesn't happen all that often for me... And now that I got fire done, I'm debating if I should do a water-themed sister design hoping that my Amazon vendor still has three glass lenses of the same size!

Thank you! I've finally hung it up and put some candles in. The colors came out really nice.

Will you be working on earth, air, and water?

I usually love to do an elemental series and see if I can capture all elements. This time I'm not sure because there's no hanging space in the back yard, really. I may do water, because there is a hook on the fence I could use...

Yeah, I already use them for hummingbird feeders in the summer. That's a great idea!

Beautiful. You could to quite the photographic study with it as it captures and transforms the light at different times and seasons.

Thank you, that's a great suggestion! At the moment it is waiting to go in place, because we have people in and out of the yard resurfacing the pool and everything is covered with dust... Hopefully after Christmas I can hang it up and take some shots when it's lit from the inside.

Ooh, shiny!
Would be interesting to see a picture of it lit, in the evening.

Thank you! I haven't been able to hang it in place yet, because we're having the pool resurfaced and everything's dusty, but hopefully over the next few weeks I can put it up with some candles and take a photo after dark.
