Description (2020), 3"x 7.5", Size 11 Delica beads (matte black, matte dark olive, silver-lined saffron ab, silver-lined straw gold, silver-lined matte gold, silver-lined seafoam opal, silver-lined white opal) size 15 seed beads (transparent glazed celery) Fireline.

This pattern was inspired by the rich gold-green hues of carp scales. The scales themselves are fairly large as fish scales go and often shimmer in beautiful hues from rich bronze all the way to subtle sea foam greens.

Thank you! There are so many glittering bead finishes, trying to work them into the flash of fish scales seemed like fun.

Thank you! Beads have so many different textures: silver-lined glittering cores, glossy or satin surfaces, rainbow glazes and metallics - they seem to be just perfect for capturing the glitter of fish scales or the shimmer of butterfly wings...

Thank you! I really love how these photograph-based patterns blend at a distance to look like the real deal again. I also used a lot of silver-lined beads for this one, so it has a lot of glitter in the sun, like a fish turning under water and flashing...

Thanks! I agree, it'd be cool to play with and take it down a blue or even red (koi carp) color scheme.
