Description (2006) 9"x12" Pencil on Paper

Well, I just had to end the year (and start the new one) with another Lucius drawing.

The little Death Eater scene in the bottom right hand corner was an out-take from Goblet of Fire, and the mask in the top right hand corner is a still from the upcoming movie that seems to have seriously reconsidered its approach to the MMM (Muggle Molestation Mob or wizarding equivalent to the KKK).

I like the new get-up much better. Hope you enjoy and here's to a magical 2007!

Thanks so much! This one is a little special for me. I was able to meet Jason in London a few years ago and gifted him with a photoprinted copy. He signed the other one for me. His comment: "That's flattery. I don't look that good!" (Little does he know...)

Wow, that definitely makes this image very special! That is terrific
that you got to meet him! Little does he know... how scrumptious
he looks as Lucius! Even in DH when he was scruffy (and probably drinking
a wee bit too much) he was still attractive in that scruffy 'awwww' way.
With a strong impulse to experiment on Voldemort; does an emotionally-charged
Sectumsempra have the force for decapitation.

Yeah, he's a really kind and somewhat humble guy - so different from the actual Lucius... And yeah, I had a strong impulse to curse LV during his treatment of the Malfoys in DH!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ObscuroArcanum In reply to Ellygator [2012-06-05 14:20:20 +0000 UTC]

And it wasn't just LV's treatment of the Malfoys during DH that
earns him a thorough torturing... he broke Lucius's wand! 1000
years (reportedly) that wand had been in the Malfoy family, and
the second an insane dark lord gets his hands on it, it's destroyed.
We could drop to our knees and weep over that heinous destruction.
Giving LV a thorough introduction to the Cruciatus is definitely
required; he probably couldn't take it as easily as he dishes it
out. Giving is different to receiving after all.
I wonder how long it would take before he cracked? *musing*

That's a good point. Most bullies don't do so well if pain and humiliation comes their way. Much better at giving than taking! I was trying to think of a scene where LV shows any kind of courage or capacity for endurance, but really all I can think of is that he only ever engages when he thinks he has everything rigged in his favor to the point where nothing can happen to him. If he's in doubt, he sends his minions...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ObscuroArcanum In reply to Ellygator [2012-06-10 09:54:27 +0000 UTC]

I can't think of any scene LV was in a situation like that either,
because it really goes against the way he is. The nearest I can think
of was when he showed up at the Ministry, when Harry was chasing after
Bella. He only showed up much, much later that night- he wasn't actively
luring Harry down to the DoM... and his presence at the Ministry ended up
biting him in the arse; dueling with Dumbledore, getting seen by Aurors
and Fudge. A monumental cock-up after how painstaking he had being about
keeping his return quiet, and having those who said different slandered.

Ellygator In reply to ObscuroArcanum [2012-06-15 11:42:13 +0000 UTC]

That's a really good point. Almost made Lucius' snafu of getting the prophecy smashed pale into insignificance... not that LV would have seen it quite that way!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ObscuroArcanum In reply to Ellygator [2012-06-16 11:20:17 +0000 UTC]

No, LV most certainly wouldn't see it that way. Lucius was the one who
screwed up, the great Lord Voldemort does not make mistakes. Or some
such nonsense like that. I really don't think it would go down too well
for someone to speak up, "But you were seen!" in defense for the torturing
they would receive for failing to acquire the prophecy. Or even pointing
out the fact Potter has escaped from LV many times before, so it really
wasn't their fault that Potter had friends with him, and then the Order
showed up.
"The prophecy was smashed, yeah, well, YOU were seen! On the scale of
stuff-ups, that rates pretty high too!" I really don't think that would
go down too well, for some reason.

LOL! I could just picture that conversation... It would have earned poor Lucius a couple extra doses of cruciatus. He may have thanked his lucky stars the aurors got to him first, rather than is master...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ObscuroArcanum In reply to Ellygator [2012-06-27 06:40:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh, for sure. Well, as soon as the shock wore off and LV realises
that yes, Lucius did just say that to him. But after the farce in
the DoM, Azkaban was a safer alternative; it gave LV's rage a chance
to cool off. Slightly. A bit. Being stuck in Azkaban was punishment
enough! Poor Lucius. It just wasn't his day...

It was very cool! I was on a business trip to London and a friend could join me. We're both big fans, so we went to Jason's performance in "The Dumb Waiter", which was awesome, by the way. He has great stage presence.

We "ambushed" him at the stage entrance after the show, with a whole bunch of other fans, and he was just incredibly graceful and friendly and took his time with everyone after what must have been a grueling performance - the play only has two guys in in and is emotionally very intense... I would have wanted to pull a paper bag over my head if I'd just delivered that kind of performance and chilled all by myself!

girl-scout-cookies In reply to Ellygator [2011-03-10 23:08:01 +0000 UTC]

I bet he has a stage presence. It would be really neat to see him in a play (though I've never heard of that one or even been to a play, sadly).

He seems like a guy who would take it in stride. I love an actor/performer who can make time for his fans even after a long day. I'm with you, though; I would've exited quietly and hid in my home with some tea and a book or something!

I agree, I think he's just a genuine people person.

He's a Gemini, like my baby brother, and he, too, is happiest when he's around people, no matter now stressful his day has been. In fact getting the support of his friends I think lifts him up and gives him energy.

Being a villain, you'd think that I'd hate him, but I can't. I think, the main reason is Jason Isaacks. He does a wonderful job portraiting him.

This is a stunning drawing! I love the snakes in the left corner and the Death Eater mask is just so much more sinister looking than the ones they made for the Goblet of Fire movie. Lucius is as always beautiful. I just love the way you always manage showing off his handsome features - especially his sensual mouth. He has a way of making this slight raising of one corner of the upper lip when he is sneering, which I have always found to be rather arousing.

And to think that you have been able to meet Jason Isaacs in person. You got your photograph taken as well standing beside him with his arm around your waist and got just a tiny little squeeze from him. You didn't faint? Plus you got a hug and a little kiss. Ah, pure heaven. I'm so jealous! Also an hour of live Jason on stage must have been an amazing experience. May I ask what kind of person he is in real life?

Thank you! It was a fun challenge to do something like a poster composition for once, and I agree with you, the new masks are so much better than the rotted skull masks they had in GOF.

Jason is just down-to-earth and charming around his fans. When I talked to him and watched him talk to other fans he was really obliging and courteous, and instead of the meeting being about him, it was all about the person he was talking to. He would ask interested and intelligent questions, really listen to them and take his time answering their questions. Even if folks wanted several pictures taken with him he would not seem impatient or annoyed with them. For autographs he was happy to personalize them the way folks asked him to. He has a lovely light humor in his remarks and is very self-deprecating - a typical English trait that I find very charming. What suprised me after seeing him on screen was what a slight person he is in life. I hadn't expected a giant, but he is not very tall and quite slim. He moves very gracefully.

It really sounds like you had a wonderful time! Even though you could imagine it being somewhat trying at times always to be obliging and courteous around the fans I really like the fact that Jason seems so natural around his fans. I have always heard him described as a nice man with a great sense of humour. I also find the very self-deprecating trait of the English people to be very charming. They are totally different from the Americans, which I find to be somewhat stiff in their attitudes sometimes. They never seem to laugh at themselves either! They always seem to be taking themselves very seriously.

I really hope I would be able to meet him in person one day!

I'm sure I would! It would certainly be an experience I would treasure forever!

Isaacs has called himself an "invisible star" who can still travel by the London Underground to film premieres unrecognized: "They just think, who's that t*** in black tie? As soon as I get on the red carpet they start screaming and screaming. It's laughable because when it's all over I go home on the Tube as well."

Oh no Mr. Isaacs! That wouldn't work with me! I would recognize you anywhere! A stalker! Who me? Never! Alright then! Maybe a little! But only in the kindest way imaginable!

LOL! I agree, after the show he just headed up the road and down the steps to Trafalgar station with a mate. And I swear, in a blue wind-breaker with a NY baseball cap and the goatee he grew for "Dumb Waiter" I think I would have missed him for who he was, too, if he'd sat somewhere in a compartment near me... He's a good actor I guess, can blend into the crowd like a chameleon...

Ya know, I've been searching for something like this for ages! Last week I was re-watching GoF, and when I saw the scene where Voldemort rises and calls his Death Eaters, I felt like screaming... I mean, when I saw Lucius and heard him say, "The face I've been compelled to show to the world since you disappeared, my Lord, that was my real mask," I almost jumped off my chair lol Fab work, hun!
