These ones are tricky and kind of at the edge of what the clay can handle, being fairly soft as 999 silver, but I must say I did enjoy the challenge...

Thank you! I guess I really pushed the clay to its limits, but it was fun to make.

No secret. I start by rolling out a sheet of clay, then superimposing a paper cartoon of the pattern and using a craft knife to cut out the open areas. What's left gets wrapped around a slender bottle and is secured and left to dry. I then use a dremel to shape the design, i.e. carve the "over-under" effects. After firing the carved clay I add the bezel wire for the stone fixing it with oil paste and firing again. After setting the stone the silver gets a patina of liver of sulfur and is then polished and burnished up.

That sounds like a really cool and exciting project. It would be a piece that definitely makes a statement.

I usually tend to check out the gallery of someone who comments and especially if they have some definitive things to say rather than just "Cool" or "Awesome". You do some really original work with your traditional flint projects.

Thanks so much! The bracelets are a little iffy to carve and fire, but I am glad about how this one turned out...
