Woooow, this picture was in my favourites but I saw it again... It's reaaally really amazing, I love manipulations and I do, I've experience with photoshop and I specially lik ethis kind of works. Those pieces of fabric look.... from the stock photo!! Is really amazing, i've checked all the pages for the resources and stock images but, are the fabric pieces from other images or brushes with textures? I'd really like to know because I L♥OVE the result! Good job on it! ^^

To answer you, effectively I used some other stocks, personal ones as I mentioned it into the deviation comment.
I often used some photos of flowers, I did many macro shoots of them in my garden ...
So, once I have my "flowers" on my computer, I do many things on photoshop. I use a lot black/white, sepia effect, distortion tool, etc ...
But the most important is that I paint over with the basic rounded brush, I work between 1px and 3px with an opacity between 10% and 50%.
If you look well, behind the girl there are about 4 "big" pieces of flowers, 2 black and 2 white.
I hope you'll enjoy my explanations ?

Omg ahaha flower petals it's true! I see them now hahaha, I was thinking on what it could be and thought hm... hard fabric maybe, hmm wood with fabric texture?!?! nah impossible... flower petals! god it looks amazing ahaha. What a creative and an awesome thing, yeah I always use photography filter on sepia ahahaha, I always start testing some of them with the down arrow thinking if cold blue fits better than dark yellow but I always finish using SEPIA, it rocks xD

Well if you also paint I bet it'll be easier for me because I use a graphics tablet for my drawings and I use it in photomanipulations, like painting realistic blood and shines or little details
Again thank you very much for answering the comment and overall for answering that specific thing, some people are really really close and never say what they used or their "tricks" so to me it's really fantastic, I learnt all about photoshop alone and helpful people are always very welcome ^^

But you know, you said "some people are really close", I think they are afraid to give some of their technical experiences ! But in my opinion, deviantart was created for sharing ideas, creations and some "tips" and of course to meet a lot of people...
So concerning, the "flowers" in my deviations if you look just a little : here , here and here you will find some flowers or pieces of flowers in these deviations
And if you have a tablet it will be very good for creating details ! I just use my dear mouse for painting, sometimes is quite difficult (aargh...)

Yeah, it happened to me once, I teached a person from my forum to use photoshop first on doing signatures, and then wallpapers and a lot of things, and teaching my tricks and, well ALL what I do when I do signatures and other designs and after about a year he did a signature that I liked, and asked him what was the technique... and never answered. God I remember how much I regretted to teach him ¬¬ !
