This is the drawing that I gave to him!! XD See journal [link] for details.I know it's a bit off anatomically speaking, since his body it's a bit longer than I thought it would come out, but I don't care, I love it, and I love the fact that I could give it to him personally.
I finished the drawing on April 3, minutes before I left to go to the set. I had started it on 2006, left it unfinished, and rushed it up the last two days (staying even the day before up to 4:30 am trying to finish it) to give it to him on the evening of that day. It was fun.

Well, I just go through various of layerings, first very light and smooth, adding different colors like yellow, peach, pink, different browns, etc., and then, with the same colors continue growing on intensity and pressure, usually blending a finished part with pencil blender or a color that suits as a blender in that certain area. In the end I have no hands to work with, 'cause it's really tiresome! XD But it's worth it, I love the end results.

Oh yeah, it could be. I think it's more difficult to blend all the colors in a thin paper or one that gets scratched or scraped easily (like by erasing, for example).
But yes, that's why I told you I end up with no hands! I press kinda hard sometimes, and consistently, sometimes in circles. XD That's why I couldn't continue for a time actually. In 2005 I did so many colored drawings, I really had to rest my hand. That's why I switched over to acrylics. But I love pencils, and I can do some more now, I just need to be more careful. Maybe in the end that much pressure wasn't needed.
You just go with a way that works for you, considering everything; the process, the outcome, but also the safety for your hands!
