I’ve drawn a LOT of things for the Legend of Korra, and I feel the dominant portion of it is stuff that’s either silly or intended to make a specific person smile. This one is different, and is probably my favorite thing I've ever drawn for The Legend of Korra. Following each finale for Books 1, 2, and 3, I was left incredibly inspired, and Korra's sacrifice in Book 3 was particularly inspirational. I found myself drawing several sketches of the support and love she was surrounded with, which could help her through her recovery. Riding on this high, I felt driven to draw something truly beautiful, something that could try to evoke the feelings I was left with in the aftermath of the season. It's nowhere near perfect, but with this sketch I feel like I came close. Looking at it still brings back the feelings I had during the show's best moments.

Unfortunately, Book 4 lost its luster for me somewhere in the middle of the season, and it ultimately left me much less inspired than prior seasons, when it came to Korra and her journey as the Avatar. As such, I'm dubious I will ever top this composition. I've been holding onto it with the intent to ink and color it, but I've grown to like its sketchiness. So I'll post it like this and maybe one day will clean it up.
