Items/Weapons: Skull-capped cane used for smacks, voodoo dolls, various powders, a skull and a silk tophat signifying his position.

Powers/Abilities: Demo is essentially the avatar of Baron Samedi, the Vodun loa of the dead, on earth. As such he has great magical powers that he can use to manipulate the will of people, often controlling them as though they were puppets--while they're very much aware of it and free to rant off. He can curse and hex people, bringing about nasty and often rather painful effects. He can raise mindless zombies to do his bidding or even render another into a zombie, if their will is weak enough. He can also communicate with the dead.

Weaknesses: His abilities don't seem to work on people of extreme faith--or extreme skepticism.

His powers are entirely at the mercy and whim of Baron Samedi. If he doesn't want Demo's powers to work, they won't work.

Certain voodoo signs and talismans can negate his powers, much to his frustration.

Significant body markings : When 'in costume', Demo wears a sort of face paint that he creates and makes his face look like a skull, and brands his chest with Baron Samedi's veve (sigil).

Personality: A typical Southern Cajun, Demo is upbeat, cheerful and mischievous. His upbringing was rough-and-tumble enough to give him an eccentric distinctiveness, but not so harsh that he can't look classy when doing 'his thing'.
He's hyper, loud and sometimes obnoxious, and spontaneous to a fault. True to the spirit of New Orleans, his hometown, he loves music, parties, people and just about anything remotely related to voodoo and santeria.
But deep down he's an innocent, good and moral guy that likes to stick to his duty and would never dream of using his power for immoral purposes. Demo is extremely prone to do random, 'flashy' things, such as pulling a voodoo doll out of his pocket and flailing it in someones face's while yelling profanities at them and sticking needles through it. Sometimes eccentric and sometimes difficult to approach, once he warms up to someone he's much more pleasant, open and humorous.

History: Demo is the youngest son of Nico Savoy. A genuine child of New Orleans, Demos grew up among jazz, voodoo poseurs and an interesting environment of the Mississippi blend. He was raised by his Cajun dad and southern belle mother, and grew up helping around the family restaurant.
When he was 13, he unintentionally offended a very bitter and cruel voodoo priest who set a deadly curse on him. His mother, a voodoo priestess herself, made a deal with Baron Samedi to dispel the curse in exchange for Demo becoming his avatar and pawn. She agreed and Demo was spared--but his mother had swapped his fate with hers and died instead.
His first job as Baron Samedi's Envoy was to straighten out the cruel voodoo priest and put to rest his zombie slaves. Inexperienced and dumbfounded, Demo was a bit startled of his success and shied away from his role as Baron Samedi's representative in the land of the living. He grew into the role as he realized he could do more than Samedi's bidding by helping people as a medium and a sort of crime fighter.
Per chance, while visiting his Miami-based aunt to look into the colleges there, he got involved with the newly-founded Nightwatch team, then counting only 3 members, Abaddon, Uriel and Feral. He somehow ended up assisting them to take down a large drug ring. He realized he enjoyed 'the superhero life' a bit too much and practically invited himself into the team.
Despite their initial reservations, the other three came to accept him, although they sometimes regret it when exposed to his antics. Demo lives with his aunt in Miami now and attends college. He's also a self-proclaimed voodoo priest, but then again, what does Miami know about voodoo anyway?
