Description *Before any Captain Obvious tells me that sitting on clouds is impossible, remember that you are looking at a fantasy themed painting.*

An experimental doodle of Sierra. She is always my guinea pig for trying out new ideas. I am quite happy with how this turned out though?

I case you haven't noticed, I love using orange-purple gradients

That sky. It's so AMAZING! The clouds are perfection, the lighting incredible. The way the dragon sits on the cloud is very creative. ^^

Would you take some critique? Because the way you've done this is stunning, I mean, look at your technique on the clouds and the colour scehem, it's utterly gorgeous. But I know how you can make it even better!

Thank you ^^ I am in two minds about saying yes though; this is the first piece of art that I have been happy with in months despite the obvious mistakes (in anatomy, shading, the sun, etc) and this may seem selfish but I don't want to spoil it for myself? However, constructive critique is always a good thing for an artist, and I do want to improve I'll leave it up to you, I guess!

Righty, you've got the layering of feathers down pretty good, but what I've noticed is that you've missed out a section of the wing, the part where the primary feathers are. I suppose the best way to describe it is that you've draw the upper arm and forearm of the wing, but not the 'hands'. In future, the best way to think of wings is literally by imagining that your arms are wings, extend the fingertips out and you'll have the wing shape no problem. The feathers also need to go down the body a little more, so that when the dragon is in flight it'll maximise the surface area
I hope I worded that alright :S if not I hope the red line is more help :'D

But yeah, this picture is fantastic! Your artwork is consistently good and I'd love to see more and see you improve

Thank you so much for the red line, do you mind if i use that to fix it up when I get the chance?

That makes sense. I understand that the bird wing is just an adapted pentadactyl limb, though sometimes I find it hard to consolidate the positioning of the wing with the anatomy ^^ (I am notoriously lazy when it comes to anatomy, especially when it comes to wings. )

Yeah! That's exactly the best way to think of it Wings can be a pain in the ass when you're not to sure about the anatomy, I mean, I freaking hate drawing bat type wings But feathers are easier I think because you have better real life references c:

Those clouds sure look fluffy and 'cloudy'
Maybe a little more purple into shadows of Sierra?

Yeah, I originally had more purple on her, but I think that it looks nicer this way. Thanks for the feedback though ^^
