Description My first couple cracks at an old flame. Takes me forever to get the feel of a character. Some of these are from reference, but usually after a couple attempts I try to wing it. For me its all about being "on model" but without directly copying anything. eventually.

As previously mentioned in another deviation, Teddy Ruxpin is a long lost love of mine. I watched it as a kid, but never got to appreciate its ambitious continuity until getting a bit older. There were many tapes recorded by my mother and grandmother, but none in any kind of order.

Now, as much as I liked Teddy, Tweeg and LB were the real stars--even when it came to the books. The drawings of them just seemed to pop out from the rest-- I remember being very young and often going back to this particular book . See, Tweeg...has mother issues. I always felt like I could relate. LoL

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEG!!!!!!!!!

I used to watch it as a kid. Recently I found two of the DVD's at a movie rental place that was getting rid of it's stock and going out of business so I some how managed to convince the clerk at the comicbook store next door to buy them for me. So I have the first two DVD's with the episodes in order.

Oh I was in nostalgia heaven!

ha ha ha. It was really a good show! Other than.. the songs. Unless you've got like a song-writer from broadway, songs are never a good idea...

Ha! Yeah, the songs generally weren't good, but there were some that stuck with me and maybe the nostalgia alone made them good. I dunno. I had the animatronic toy and it sang and told stories and my brother and I thought it was amazingly awesome.

Awe.. I had the animatronic toy too. Sadly he's sitting in my old bedroom, in my old house.. missing his eyes. O_O I don't know why.. But I suspect my brother who used to ruin my stuff behind my back.

Hm. I know I complained about the music on the show, but the *title* song is fantastic. Its like a "dynamic lullaby" if such a thing can exist. Just hearing it sends tingles up my spine--They always say that 'smell' is so strongly connected to the brain, but I swear.. music is like a time machine: a direct link for to me the first time I heard it.

My cousin tore the mouth off of our Teddy Ruxpin and who knows what happened to it after that. Gosh that was well over 20 years ago. And yes. I agree about the theme song! "Come dream with me tonight. Let's climb aboard our airship and sail into the sky."
Gah, I listened to the thing just day before yesterday and I can't remember all the words. Bleh. But the lullaby that the toy sang is magical to me, "Will you go to sleep before I do? Can you close your eyes real tight? Will you go to sleep before I do and snuggle all through the night?" *sigh* It's so blissful. ^_^ I think of me and my brother laying on the pull out sofa-bed in the living room in front of the fireplace and playing that song. I wish we still had that toy. If I had the money, I've seen 'em on eBay, I'd like to get one for my brother as a Christmas present.

Swoon! What I think I love best is that you've drawn him the way I always thought was the best... I assume they had a smattering of key animators at WOW, cus some episodes he looked like an angry cucumber, or lacked any character. The books were good, but mid TV series had the most expression IMHO, and dude you've caught it!

I've had a serious crush on this guy forever, even if he was bumbling.

I REMEMBER HIM man i used to have such a crush on tweeg :' (
And how he longed to see his dad and all his issues with his mother rofl he was so cute

I'm not even quite sure how i still REMEMBER all this since i watched the show when i was like...super tiny, but man i adored Tweeg and LB. I still remember that one episode when Tweeg even sang some really catchy tune to spell his name to Teddy Ruxpin (it was indeed catchy because i remember it even after ALL THESE YEARS wow)
