This is a WIP shot! Those of you who follow Equestria Daily might recognize this as the beginning of the comic I submitted for yesterday's training grounds - the evil twin of one of the ponies. I ended up getting something in on time yesterday, but it was terribly rushed and depressingly unfinished.Well, I've been working on it, and here is a taste of things to come
This is what (that first panel) is supposed to look like.It's taking FOREVER because I figure hey, training grounds, you're supposed to learn things right? So I'm trying out a ton of things I haven't tried before. But I figured I'd show you guys anyway, so, you know, you'd know.
You know the drill, none of this was traced, etc etc.
Storybook style is surprisingly difficult, btw. Just so you know.

I don't know if they're still doing it - Equestria Daily, one of the more popular MLPFIM fansites, had a month where there was a daily challenge, to draw a pony in x situation.

If you can speak English as well, I hope that's right, my Spanish is pretty weak and rusty. I used Photoshop and a drawing tablet, and drew it on my computer.

I really love how you did scene transitions. Nice choice with the trail that gives the conceptual line which viewer follows to through the scenes.

Yuuup. Solar Flare (like mare, get it? Do ho ho) is the best name I or my friends could come up with for her, so unless I somehow manage to think up a better name, Solar Flare it is.
Anyway, originally I was just going to do her by herself, then I decided that wait, if I was gonna do this I might as well do it properly, and retelling the whole origin seemed as good a way as any.

But what's the origin? In canon story, it was evil magic that found a weak spot in Luna's heart, full of bitterness and sadness, and turned her into wicked form: Nightmare Moon.
Your version already plays aside canon, so, there is supposed to be reason as well for what happened with Celestia.

Mmhmm. Well there's a few ways that it could go, and really since there aren't any words it's open for people to create their own story to go along with it. The idea that I personally was toying with was Celestia slowly growing resentful - she is the elder sister, after all, and the ponies all seem to enjoy her day so much more, and there Luna is with the moon and the stars, and she's taking up half the time.... Etc, you see where this is going.
